Chapter I Preface
This User’s Manual is only applicable to the electrical
schematic diagrams of FT-MP series provided by our company and it
is only applicable to control system of ES30 series at the speed within
0.25m/s~0.65m/s.
! Danger!
1. Don’t put combustibles near the escalator control cabinet, otherwise there is a risk of
fire;
2. Don’t install it in the environment containing explosive gas, otherwise there is a risk of
fire;
3. Don’t dismantle control parts arbitrarily, otherwise it may cause system damage;
4. It is strictly forbidden to install it in the occasions where the water pipe may have water
splash, otherwise there is a risk of damaging controller;
5. Don’t let screws, washers and metal foreign bodies fall into escalator control cabinet,
otherwise there is risk of damage;
6. Don’t touch the components and parts of controller with hands, otherwise there is risk
of static damage to controller;
7. Don’t touch the controller with wet hands, otherwise there is risk of damaging
controller;
8. Only conduct operations like wiring after the input power supply is confirmed to be
disconnected completely;
! Attention!
1. Power terminal must be connected to conducting wire firmly, otherwise there is a risk
of damaging controller;
2. Don’t touch the controller terminal or control printed circuit board with hands under
the status of power on, otherwise there is a risk of controller damage and electric
shock;
3. The control cabinet case, frequency inverter grounding terminal, motor case and car
body must be grounded reliably;
escalator when passenger’s hands or foreign bodies get into the inlet.
6. Protection device for main drive chain:
When drive chain elongates too long or broken, the main drive chain protection
device will touch the safety switch to cut off the power and stop running.
7. Protection device for handrail breakage:
When handrail breaks, due to the effect of gravity, the handrail will droop to press
the roller and make the switch acts to cut off the power and stop the motor running.
8. Escalator steps monitor:
A step deficiency monitor is equipped separately at the top and bottom of
escalator. When escalator is running, once the system detects the deficiency of steps, it
will stop the operation of escalator.
9. Escalator handrail monitor:
An electronic speed detector is equipped beside the big driving wheel of escalator.
During the normal operation of escalator, if the running speed is over or below the
preset speed, the escalator will stop running.
10. Escalator speed monitor:
Two electronic speed detectors are equipped beside the big driving wheel of
escalator. During the normal operation of escalator, if the running speed is over or
below the preset speed, the escalator will stop running.
11. Step green lighting:
A green lighting tube is equipped separately below the upper and lower level
segments of escalator to facilitate passengers to see the edge of steps clearly and to
avoid danger.
12. Motor overload protection:
When the temperature of motor winding rises, the safety circuit breaks to stop
escalator from running and closes automatically after the winding has cooled down
fully. The escalator can only be restarted after the fault has been checked out and
eliminated.
13. Phase protection:
When power supply has phase dislocation or loss of phase, the phase protection
device works and the escalator can’t start up.
Warning
Before inspection, confirm that the main power and lighting power source
are in off state, meanwhile, disconnect all air switches in escalator control
cabinet.
1.1 Confirm there is no obstacles which may influence the escalator running in
escalator steps;
1.2 Confirm that the driving parts on the upper/lower parts of escalator are installed
well;
1.3 Confirm that the guide has been installed and adjusted and has checked out;
1.4 Confirm that the handrail is installed correct;
1.5 Confirm that the escalator glass is installed correctly;
1.6 Confirm that the auxiliary brake is installed correctly and can run with reliable
braking;
1.7 Confirm that the safety switches of escalator are installed correctly and can act
flexibly without sticking;
1.8 All installations shall conform to the provisions of national regulation GB16899;
1.9 After all devices are installed, the machine room and truss must keep clean inside;
Note
Any problem must be carefully inspected during the following inspection
progress, and fault must be removed until confirming it won’t affect equipment
and personal safety.
2.1 Confirm the connection from escalator distribution box to control cabinet L1, L2,
L3, N and PE three-phase five-wire system incoming line are reliable;
2.2 Confirm the connection from traction machine brake coil to controller is correct;
2.3 Confirm the connections from control cabinet U, V and W to traction machine U,
V and W are correct;
2.4 Confirm all the switches of safety circuit devices are reset; confirm safety circuit
in the control cabinet is connected, or fault must be carefully removed, but safety
circuit shall not be short circuit artificially;
2.5 Confirm on-off logic of inspection circuit is correct;
2.6 Confirm wiring of lighting circuit is correct and has no short circuit and breaking
phenomena;
2.7 Insulation resistance between ground lead and terminals (including power line and
control line) shall comply with national standard requirement, otherwise inspect it
immediately and conduct next step commissioning after troubleshooting;
3. Energization inspection
3.1 Confirm motion detection box has been inserted on t he inspection socket of main
control cabinet and inspection socket of lower junction box is at normal status;
3.2 Inspect incoming voltage of three-phase five-wire, three-phase voltage shall be
380VAC±7%, interphase deviation shall not be greater than 15VAC and the
voltage between each phase and null line shall be 220VAC±7%;
3.3 Carry out energization commissioning after confirming normal power supply;
3.4 “POWER” power light and “NORMAL” normal light of phase sequence relay
(JXW) in the control cabinet are on after switching on power switch; three-phase
power source isn’t input to phase sequence relay if power light is not on; input
three-phase power source has phase dislocation fault if normal light is not on, and
please exchange any two phase of three-phase incoming line or remove other fault
after outage, and then continue commissioning;
3.5 Inspect all the safety contact switches: KM1 contactor is pull in and then it’s
disconnected by one actuation after another to make KM1 release main safety
contact switch:
3.6 Inspect whether voltage data of the following control cabinet terminals are
normal:
4. Inspection running
4.1 Connect the movable inspection box with the upper inspection box and lower
inspection must be normal at the same time. Press the up or down button on the
inspection box to inspect whether the running direction of escalator is correct, and
change the two-phase (U and V) adjustment running direction of motor if
necessary;
4.2 Connect the movable inspection box with the lower inspection box and upper
inspection must be normal at the same time. Press the up or down button on the
inspection box to confirm the running direction of escalator is correct.
1. Confirm safety switch motions are effective again and switches are under reset
status;
2. Confirm there is no any barrier affecting its operation in the escalator again;
3. Confirm escalator installation is correct and has no shaking phenomenon again;
4. Confirm Frequency Inverter’s parameter setting is correct;
5. Disconnect the inspection box and control cabinet;
6. Rotate (turn on up first when escalator is down, turn on additional brake, then press
stop and then rotate down) the up/down key switch installed at the escalator
entrance in the actual running direction. Confirm whether running direction of
escalator is correct and whether running speed is normal after escalator is under
normal running;
7. Confirm whether mechanical operation parts have abnormal condition after
high-speed operation of escalator, and cut off power source immediately if there is
abnormal condition;
8. Press the stop button on the manipulation box when stopping using escalator;
9. Safety switch motions are normal;
10. Operation of upper/ lower key switches are normal;
11. Step lighting lamps are normal;
12. Function confirmations (see the content of commissioning record sheet for details);
