CẤU TRÚC CÂU CỦA CÁC DẠNG SO SÁNH TRONG TIẾNG ANH

1. Equality(So sánh bằng)

S + tobe/V + as + adj/adv + as + N/pronoun
S + tobe/do/does + not + so/as + adj/adv + N/Pronoun
Ex: - She cooks as well as her mother.
-This boy is as tall as that one (Không lặp lại từ đã dùng ở chủ ngữ)
*Cấu trúc so sánh bằng với danh từ: S + tobe/V + the same + N + as+ O
Ex: -John has the same height as Jim.
-The apple is the same weight as the orange

2. Comparative(So sánh hơn)

Short: S +tobe/V + adj/adv + er + than + N/pronoun
Long: S + tobe/V + more + adj/adv + than + N/pronoun
Ex: - She is taller than I/me
- She works harder than her twin sister.
-She drives more carefully than I do.
3. So sánh kém
S + tobe/V + less + adj/adv + than + N/pronoun. (ít/kém hơn)
Ex: Motorcycle is less comfortable than a car.
-He is less clever than his brother. ( Nóc kém thông mình hơn anh/em nó.)
4. Superlative(So sánh nhất)
Short adj: S + tobe/V + the + adj/adv + est + N/pronoun
Long adj: S + tobe/V + the most + adj/adv + N/pronoun.
Ex: She is the tallest girl in the village.
- She often comes to class later than her friends
5. So sánh kém nhất
S + tobe/V + the least + adj/adv + N/pronoun(ít/kém nhất)
Ex : His is the least interesting book.

6. Double comparison(So sánh kép)

Short: S + tobe/V + adj/adv + er + and + adj/adv + er
Long: S+ tobe/V + more and more + adj/adv
Ex: The daughter is more and more beautiful.
Because he was afraid, he walked faster and faster

NOTE :
1. Những tính từ ngắn kết thúc bằng một phụ âm mà ngay trước nó là nguyên âm
duy nhất thì chúng ta nhân đôi phụ âm lên rồi thêm "er" trong so sánh hơn và
"est" trong so sánh nhất.(ex:hot-->hotter/hottest)
2. Những tính từ có hai vần,kết thúc bằng chữ "y" thì đổi "y" thành "i" rồi thêm
"er" trong so sánh hơn và "est" trong so sánh nhất (happy-happier-happiest)
3. Những tính từ/trạng từ đọc từ hai âm trở lên gọi là tính từ dài,một âm gọi là
tính từ ngắn.Tuy nhiên,một số tính từ có hai vần nhưng kết thúc bằng
"le","et","ow","er"vẫn xem là tính từ ngắn (slow--> slower)
4. Các tính từ so sánh bất quy tắc thì học thuộc lòng :

5. Trong cấu trúc so sánh hơn, có thể thêm far hoặc much trước cụm từ so sánh
nhằm nhấn mạnh ý bạn muốn đề cập.(Ex: Ann cell phone is much more
expensive than mine.)
