Natural Numbers - known as counting numbers
Represented by the letter ‘N’.
Ex- 1,2,3,4……….
Zero (0) is not a natural number.
They are not negative.

Whole numbers – Natural numbers including zero (0)

are known as whole numbers. Denoted by W.
Ex : 0, 1, 2, 3, ………

Prime numbers – Those numbers which are
divisible by 1 and itself.
Ex : 2,3,5,7,………
• 2 is the only even number which is prime

Co - prime numbers – Two natural numbers are

said to be co-prime, if their HCF is 1.
Co-prime numbers may or may not be prime.
Ex : (7, 9), (13, 17)
