This document is intended to provide a quick overview on how to connect and control the On-Board
Charger in its DEFAULT configuration for basic operation. Our chargers depend on external
signals (Analog / Digital /CAN) to perform charging. For more information, please refer to the
Operating Manual.
DANGER
Before connecting the OBC charger, please make sure to study the user manual thoroughly
and follow safety guidelines. Failure to comply may result in severe injuries or even death, due
to high energy on the power inlet and outlet connectors of the charger.

2. Connect all the required control signals X3, refer to user manual section 4.5.4 Connector
Pin Definition.
3. Connect AC side of the charger to phases L1, L2, L3, N, and PE of the AC outlet.
Refer to Operating Manual, Chapter 4.5.3 for AC side pin overview.
4. Connect the HV DC side of the charger to positive and negative terminal of the HV battery
via appropriate pre-charging circuit. Refer to user manual section 4.5.3 for DC side Pin
Overview.
5. Connect the Cooling circuit by connecting COOLING LIQUID IN and COOLING LIQUID OUT.
Refer to user manual section 4.5.6 for Water Cooling Connector type.
6. THE UNIT SHALL BE SOLIDLY GROUNDED WITH THE VEHICLE CHASIS, the housing of the
equipment should be permanently grounded in compliance with all national and/ or local
codes and regulations.
8. Connect to our OBC via Service Program tool with PCAN USB Converter, open tab “OBC-
DCDC-STATUS for the charger status. Refer to Service Tool Manual for more information.

9. When the OBC is Error free through the Service Program. Switch on the AC Input to the
OBC and with Battery connected, Send the LOCK REQUEST digital signal followed by
CHARGE ENABLE command from the BMS / VCU2 for the OBC to enter State Charge. If the
EVTargetCurrent > 2A, then the charging should be started if the battery charging setpoint
values from the BMS/VCU are in valid ranges. More details on OBC State Machine & CAN
Signal Definition refer to our Software Manual.
Note:
1. DEFAULT configuration would imply that our OBC is connected through an EVSE Wall box with Phoenix 24V Vehicle Inlet type.
2. Make sure the CAN DBC & CAN signals are configured correctly which are necessary for the proper functioning of the unit. Refer to Software Manual for more details.
