Semester 1- Continuous assessment structure

The continuous assessment structure, showing the assessment type, weights, and
duration for graded assessments for ECS3705 is as follows:

NOTE:
There are fifteen assessments in total, but only the ones indicated in the table above
are graded. Therefore, the rest of the assessments not indicated in the table, are self-
assessments (Development quiz). Note, however, that you will first be required to
complete the self-assessments before you can proceed with graded assessments.
The assessments of learning (i.e., assignment numbers 2, and 6) require you to
conduct some research on Sub-Saharan Africa so that you can determine the
relevance of the theory in question to the African economies. The assessment of
learning (i.e., assignment number 4) will require you to analyse case study and
understand theory. You are also required to participate in subject-related Discussion
Forums since they will form part of the assessment.
Further information on the assessments will be communicated through the
Announcements tool.
