General Instructions:
1. Please read the instructions carefully.
2. This Question Paper consists of 21 questions in two sections – Section A and Section B.
3. Section A has objective type questions whereas Section B contains subjective type questions.
4. Out of the given (5 + 16 =) 21 questions, a candidate has to answer (5 + 10 =) 15
questions in the allotted (maximum) time of 2 hours.

Q. 6 Self-motivated individuals have an inner urge to do something, 2
achieve their goals without any external pressure/lure for award or
appreciation.
Self-Awareness
Having conscious knowledge of your own self, capabilities, feelings,
and character is called self-awareness.
Q. 7 Stress causal agents: 2
i) Mental: Students can feel overwhelmed if they are unable to handle
their assignment submission deadlines and examination grades. High
expectations from self can leave one with chronic anxiety and stress.
ii) Physical: As children grow up, they may seek more independence,
may become critically conscious of their looks, and have to cope with
hormonal changes. Issues related to general well-being and health of
an individual can lead to low self-esteem and cause stress.

Q. 8 Poor maintenance may lead to system failure. Regular care and 2


maintenance may help detect any issues at an early stage and keep it
functioning well. Computer virus, malware, and other harmful
software can cause damage to the working of the computer. If anti-
virus is installed in the computer, and is updated and run periodically,
then any loss of data can be prevented.

Q. 9 Hard work: On an average, successful entrepreneurs are found to be 2
working anywhere between 60 to 90 hours per week, which is much
higher than 40 hours per week. Entrepreneurs use a lot of trial and
error and keep putting in work till they succeed.
Optimism: Positivity and belief in what they do is what takes
entrepreneurs far in their journey. For an entrepreneur, part of being
optimistic is about learning from mistakes and failures and finding
alternative ways to do things.
Q. 10 While certain amount of capital is required for taking a business off 2
the ground, it varies depending on the business. The key in
entrepreneurship is to start with available resources and grow slowly
and steadily. It is not necessary that one should fear or deter from
entrepreneurship due to lack of financial resources.

Q. 11 A template is a model that we use to create other documents. A 2


word processor provides in-built or pre-defined templates, which
we can choose while creating a new document. We can also create
our own template or custom template as a model for our document.
For example, a custom template can be built in the form of a letter
head for a company, with the company’s logo and address. This

can be used for all the correspondence done by the company and
will give a uniform and official appearance to these letters.
Q. 12 A spreadsheet macro is a saved sequence of commands or 2
keystrokes that are stored for later use. It helps us by saving time
and increasing efficiency in carrying out repetitive tasks. It is
created by recording an action or a set of actions that you can
record, give a name, save, and run as many times as you want and
whenever you want.
Q. 13 An absolute link contains the full address of a location, including the 2
protocols and the domain name for the URLs and entire paths for

document names. It will stop working if the target is moved. The
types of internet hyperlinks that can be used in spreadsheets are
Web, FTP, or Telnet.
Q. 14 Binary data types are used for storing data in binary formats. Binary 2
data types in a database can be used for storing photos, music files,
etc. In general, files of any format can be stored using the binary data
type. For example, LONGVARBINARY can store an image.
Q. 15 i) Sticky Keys is an accessibility feature to help computer users with 2
physical disabilities, but it is also used by others as a means to reduce
repetitive strain. Sticky Keys allows the user to press and release a
modifier key, such as Shift, Ctrl, Alt, or the Windows key, and have
it remain active until any other key is pressed.
ii) Sound Sentry is designed to help users with auditory impairments.
Sound Sentry generates visual warnings, such as a blinking title bar
or a flashing border, whenever the computer generates a sound.
Q. 16 Online transactions deal with transfer of money over the internet. 2
Online transactions have made transactions very convenient and
simplified the workflow in many forms in a business. Some of the
popular online transaction websites are:
• IRCTC, an online portal for booking flight and train tickets.
• Flipkart, an online shopping portal for buying consumer products.

Q. 17 i. Goal Seek: Usually, you run a formula to calculate a result based 4


upon existing values. By contrast, using Goal Seek option, you
can discover what values will produce the result that you want.
ii. Solver is an elaborate form of Goal Seek. The difference is that
Solver deals with equations with multiple unknown variables. It is
specifically designed to minimise or maximise the result
according to a set of rules that you define. Each of these rules
sets up whether an argument in the formula should be greater
than, lesser than, or equal to the value you enter.
iii. Scenarios are a tool to test “what-if” questions. Each scenario is
named, and can be edited and formatted separately. A scenario is
essentially a saved set of cell values for your calculations.
iv. Subtotals: It totals/adds data arranged in an array—that is, a
group of cells with labels for columns and/or rows. Using the
Subtotals dialog box, you can select arrays, and then choose a
statistical function to apply to them.

Q. 18 1) A style is a set of formats that you can apply to selected pages, 4

text, frames, and other elements in your document to quickly change
their appearance. When you apply a style, you apply a whole group of
formats at the same time.
2) A template a is predefined layout that contains sample content,
themes, colours, font styles, background styles, etc., and gives an
initial foundation to build a document.
3) Arrangement refers to the placement of a graphic on an imaginary
vertical axis. Arrangement controls how graphics are stacked upon
each other or relative to the text. 4) Mail Merge is a way to take a
letter you’ve written and send it to a large number of people,
personalising it with information about them so they might think that

you typed that letter personally for them.

Q. 20 i) When data is to be stored, maintained, and retrieved from multiple 4


tables, then special database software are required, which are known
as Relational Database Management System (RDBMS).
In RDBMS, data can be integrated using keys. Example: Open
Office Base.
ii)A form provides the user a systematic way of storing information
into the database. It is an interface in a user specified layout that lets
users view, enter, and change data directly in database objects such
as tables.
iii)A primary key is a unique value that identifies a row in a table.
Primary Keys are also indexed in the database, making it faster for

the database to search for a record.
iv) There cannot be more than one Primary key in a table since it is
specifically created to uniquely identify each record in a table.
Q. 21 a) A blog is a discussion style site used by non-technical or 4
technical users for creating personal web pages. Blogs are similar
to an online personal diary.
b. i) Á modem is a device that converts digital computer signals into a
form (analog signals) that can travel over phone lines. It also re-
converts the analog signals back into digital signals.
b. ii) An Internet Service Provider (ISP) is an organization, which
provides you with access to the internet via a dial-up (using modem)
or direct (hard wired) or wireless connection.
c. Features: You can type content, add photos, videos, etc., to the
blog. You can comment on posts published by others.
d. i. Understand your target audience. Have a clear understanding of
their interest and what they want to know about.
ii. Make sure that the blog is well structured and the contents are
organised.
