TENDER DESCRIPTION Pre-qualification of suppliers for supply of approximately 88,665 metric
tonnes of NPK 26:5:5 chemically compounded fertilizer for year 2019
REGISTRATION FEE 100 US Dollars or equivalent in Kenya Shillings
MODE OF PAYMENT Cash or bankers cheque payable to Kenya Tea Development Agency
Holdings Ltd, to be deposited into the Agency’s bank account at any Family
Bank branch- account number: 065000006071 Branch: Corporate-KTDA
Plaza, Moi Avenue, Nairobi
Kenya Tea Development Agency (H) Ltd intends to pre-qualify firms for supply of approximately 88,665 metric
tonnes of NPK 26:5:5 chemically compounded fertilizer to smallholder tea farmers in Kenya for the year 2019.
This is a two stage procurement process whereby only technically pre-qualified bidders shall be called upon to
submit financial bids in the second stage.
KTDA therefore invites manufacturers and/or their authorised agents to submit technical proposals for supply of
the above fertilizer.
Interested eligible firms may obtain the prequalification documents from the procurement office, on first floor
KTDA Farmers Building, Moi Avenue, Nairobi during normal working hours, upon payment of the registration fee.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes marked with the tender name and
reference number addressed to:

Completed tender documents should be deposited in the tender box at the reception on ground floor, KTDA
Farmers Building, Moi Avenue, Nairobi, so as to be received not later than 9.30 AM East African Time on 26th
February 2019.The submitted prequalification documents will be opened on the same day. Applicants or their
appointed representatives may attend the opening.
KTDA is not obliged to accept any proposal or give reasons thereof. KTDA’s decision on the prequalification
process shall be final and only firms pre-qualified shall be invited to submit financial bids.
Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification from the tendering process.
