marks each.
3 Indian track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra, who competes in the

track and field athlete to win a gold medal.
Answer the following questions:

i) State the name of the path followed by a javelin. Write the


equation of the latus rectum of the path.
ii) If the equation of the path of javelin is x 2=−16 y , find the equation of
the directrix.
iii) For the curve in (ii), find the co-ordinates of the focus and vertex.
3 Two Candidates Amit and Anita appeared in a written test for a job
7 position in a company. The probability that Amit will qualify the test
is 0.05 and that Anita will qualify the test 0.10. The probability that
both will qualify the test is 0.02. Based on given information , answer
the following questions :

a) Find the probability that Amit will not qualify the test.

b) Find the probability that Anita will not qualify the test.
c) Find the probability that both Amit as well as Anita will not
qualify the test.
3 A school organized a fresher’s party for 60 children of 11 th class.
8 Three drinks coffee, tea and juice were distributed in the party. It
was found that 25 children drink coffee, 26 drink tea, 26 drink juice,
9 drink both coffee and juice, 8 drink both tea and juice, 11 drink
both coffee and tea and 3 students had all the three drinks.

a) Find the number of students who drank only coffee.


b) Find the number of students who had exactly one drink.
