INT. HOUSE. DAY

ACT 1
(Mary is seated on a chair at the left hand nher gele. She
is dressed in a traditional attire getting ready for her
introduction. Her bridesmaid is gesturing to her to stay
calm and breath while she fans her happily. Joseph is
standing at the right hand corner of the room with his best
man helping him adjust his agbada and cap, while these
actions are going on, there is loud music playing in the
background that indicates a ceremony is going on. The air is
filled with excitement and joy. Suddenly, Mary clentches
her stomach and her facial expression shows worry, everyone
in the room begins to notice. She uses her hands to cover
her mouth imitating signs of vomiting as she runs out of the
room, everyone follows her out in worry.)

CURTAINS CLOSE
ACT 2

INT. ROOM. DAY

Mary walks into the room looking confused and worried, her
hands is around her stomach as she gently takes a seat and
begins to soliloquize.

MARY
(hands around her stomach and
head)
How can I be pregnant? It makes no
sense to me, I mean it makes zero
sense to me.
ANGEL GABRIEL
(speaks in a deep voice but
converses in pigin)
Mary, Mary!

MARY
(shocked)
Who...who is that?
ANGEL GABRIEL
(laughs)
Calm down, na me, Angel Gabriel
MARY
(sigh)
Ohh Angel sir, I was scared o

Sorry, but I dey here for serious
matter, let me go straight to the
point

MARY
Okay, good, because me sef i have
soemthing to say to you
ANGEL GABRIEL
(clears throat)
Okay, greetings to you, you are
highly favoured, the Lord is with
you
MARY
(scared)
This one that you’re very offical,
I hope I’m not in trouble
ANGEL GABRIEL
Do not be afraid mary, you have
found favour with God, you will
concieve and give birth to a son
and you are to call him Jesus, he
will be great and will be called
the son of the most high. The Lord
will give him the throne of his
father David and he will reign over
Jacob’s descendants forever; his
kingdom will never end... Mary,
mary can you hear me?
MARY
(sighs)
I can hear you, its just that, if
you told me this like 7 hours ago
now, I wouldnt have been getting
ready for my introduction. Angel
Gabriel, I vomited in front of all
the guests, in their eyes now, I
got pregnant for someone that I
dont even know, no one believed me,
Joseph hasnt looked into my eyes
since then.

ANGEL GABRIEL
If its joseph dont worry, I will
talk to him, Joseph na believer, he
go understand.

MARY
but where were you?

ANGEL GABRIEL
You see the thing is, God sent me
since yesterday o, but I really had
to go and watch the fight between
my brother Angel Michael and ther
Prince of Persia, kai, Michael bit
that guy blue black o
MARY
Angel, michael, focus, focus, its
fine, so whats the plan now?

ANGEL GABRIEL
The Holy Spirit will come on you,
and the power of the most high will
overshadow you. Even Elisabeth your
relative go soon born. Yes, the
same Elisabeth that they said is
unable to concieve is 6 months
pregnant, because no word from God
will ever fail
MARY
(sighs)
I am God’s servant, I will do as
God has said, may God’s word to me
be fufiled, Dont forget to tell
Joseph

ANGEL GABRIEL
Dont worry, I wont, in fact, I’m
going straight to his house now.

Act 3

INT. BEDROOM. NIGHT

Joseph is seated on a mat as he soliloquizes. He has worry
fixed on his face and he is trying to get his act together.
JOSEPH
(soliloquizes)
The law doesnt permit me to marry a
woman that isnt faithful to me but
I dont want to expose her to public
disgrace... (sighs) i guess the
only thing is to seperate with her
quietly.

Joseph lies down to sleep on the mat, he uses a shirt to fan

himself for a while and kills a mosquito or 2. After few
seconds, he sleeps off and the voice of Angel Gabriel wakes
him up.

ANGEL GABRIEL
Joseph, Joseph son of David, do not
be afriad to take Mary home as your
wife, because that child she
conceived is from the Holy Spirit.
She will give birth to a son and
you will give him the name Jesus,
because he will save his people
from there sins.
The voice fades away and joseph rolls on the mat for a
while. After a while, he wakes up sharply. He sits for a
while and sighs as he says
If it is your will God then, so be
it.

Act 4

EXT. STREET. NIGHT

A voiceover( using angel Gabriel’s voice): Joseph and Mary
got married in accordance to God’s will and months after,
the baby was about to be born... but not yet, they have to
take a census as issued by Caesar.
MAry is heavily pregnant and she is being assisted by
Joseph, like every pregnant woman, she nags.
MARY
(nags)
Joseph, I’m tired, cant we rest for
a while?

JOSEPH
(checks his phone)
My love we cant all the bolt and
uber drivers are busy and we cant
stop here, this street is not safe

MARY
(drags along)
Well, just keep trying, pass me the
water in the bag and rub my
shoulder

JOSEPH
(hands the water over to her
as she drink)

MARY
(pauses)
what did you say?
JOSEPH
(laughs)
Nothing, lets just keep walking
CURTAIN CLOSE
Act 5

Voiceover: (We hear the cry of a child after which a

voiceover rolls in)
...and Jesus was born. The whole world knew it and
recognised it, even strangers from distant land came to pay
their homage)

Act 6

EXT. COMPOUND. DAY

Its time to name Jesus. Friends and families are gathered

around. The pastor is also there as well to name the him,
the air is filled with laughter and joy. Joseph and mary are
seated in front. Mary is holding Jesus, while everyone
settles down, the Pastor calls everyone together.

PASTOR
(clears throat)
People of God, we are gathered here
today to name this baby and
dedicate him to God, this child as
you all know is a very specail
child, divinely placed in the womb
of Mary and is set to do great
things. His parents didnt have to
rack their brains to figure out a
name because the Holy spirit has
done that work
EVERYONE
(laugsh)

Now, for unto us a child is born,
to us a son is given, and the
government will be on his shoulders
and he will be called Wonderful

David’s throne and his kingdom will

The 3 wise men come in looking radiant and holding gifts in

their hands, they stand before Joseph, Mary and Jesus as
they present their gifts.
WISEMAN SABBATH
We heard about the birth of your
child and we have come to present
gifts to you by the leading of God,
we have come a long way so we hope
this gifts holds significance to
you and your child. I have brought
Gold which symbolises royalty and
your Child’s status as the king of
the world.
WISEMAN REUEL
I have brought Frankincense which
symbolises your son’s divinity and
identity as the son of God
WISEWOMAN STELLA
and I have brought Nyrrh which
symoblises your child’s moertality
and death for the sake of the
truth.
JOSEPH AND MARY
thank you, we are honoured

PASTOR
(turns to the congregation)
Who would have thought that the
birth of Jesus thousands of years
ago, would be the redemption off
our sins and that through the
birth, death and resurrection of
Jesus, we now have a passport worth
more than gold to heaven. Because
of this day, we now have access to
the father through this same Jesus
christ who was born on a day like
this. So, when we celebrate
christmas, remember that it is not
just a moment of merriment but a
true moment of thanksgiving to God
for considering us worthy enough to
stil be a part of his great paln
which is eternal life.
The pastor turns to the member of the drama
