Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science that focuses on creating systems

capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. These tasks
include:

1. Learning: Acquiring knowledge and improving performance over time (e.g.,


machine learning).
2. Reasoning: Solving problems, making decisions, and drawing conclusions.
3. Perception: Recognizing and interpreting sensory inputs such as images, sounds,

4. Language Understanding: Processing and generating human language (e.g.,

5. Action: Performing actions based on decision-making (e.g., robotics).

AI systems are classified into two broad categories:

1. Narrow AI: Designed to perform a specific task, such as facial recognition,


language translation, or playing chess.
2. General AI: Hypothetical systems that could perform any intellectual task a
human can do, demonstrating flexibility and general understanding.

AI is implemented using techniques such as machine learning, neural networks, computer


vision, and natural language processing, among others. It has applications in diverse
fields, including healthcare, education, finance, transportation, and entertainm
