1.0 SCOPE :
This method shall be described the work for piping erection works at
PHIN TRI AN FACTORY Project

2.0 PURPOSE :
The objectives of this procedure plan are covered to
-To serve as a Construction Method accordance with Project
Specification Require
-To ensure that the construction works take place under the
requirement of project
quality and safety plan.

3.0 AREA OF INSTALL :

This method statement is applied for rigging plan for Piping works

4.0 RESOURCES, EQUIPMENTS AND FACILITIES :

Materials
All materials shall be approved prior to use according to Project
specification and Inspection test plan procedure as approved by client.
Resources, Equipment and Facilities

The equipments or tools for the operation are shown as below listed:
See Equipements List attached

5. PREPARATION WORK.
5.1 The latest drawing shall be used for construction work.

5.2 Temporary work for piping installation shall be planned in advance

and the
necessary equipments and materials shall be selected and prepared in
agreement with the timing of the schedule. Moreover, the scaffolding
required for field connections shall be checked, and a sufficient number
of scaffold pipes and boards shall be furnished.

5.3 Check location and erection scaffold: Scaffolding shall be provided

to permit safe operation. The use of small size piping, pumps,

instruments, etc., in lieu of scaffolding shall be prohibited. All scaffold

boards shall be secured to the scaffold pipes or piping with either metal
connectors or steel wire.

5.4 Work Permit (included Lifting permit) will be issued for approval
to PROJECT ENGINEER, after approve, Permit will be shown at all time
on site.

5.5 The primary cords, cables, and grounding wires of all welding
equipment shall be of sufficient size, and any conductors with
damaged insulation shall not be used. They shall also be inspected
periodically.

5.6 Piping components, such as pipe spools and valves, shall be

lifted with the designated wire rope slings, and the use of steel wire
shall be prohibited.

5.7 Piping components shall be hauled by mechanical equipment as

far as possible. Even for a short haul, the components shall be
securely tied to prevent them from falling.

5.8 Prior to installation, pipe spools shall be compared with the

piping drawings as to the dimensions, materials, class, etc.

5.9 Elevation inspection shall perform according to inspection test

plan procedure of piping before erection work.

5.10 To bring erection material to location .

6. PIPING ERECTION:
6.1. Installation of piping on pipe rack :
a) Generally, since air-cooled heat exchangers are placed on top of
the pipe rack, and pumps are placed underneath, the precedence for
installing piping shall be determined in consideration of the time
required for installing such equipment, the number of stages of the
pipe rack itself, etc. In principle, piping installation will be performed
from the bottom to the top levels. When installing piping, a check
shall be performed to ensure that the pipe rack beams have been
painted.

b) Before connecting piping to other equipment, piping on pipe racks

shall be laid down accurately in the places specified beforehand, and
then slide shoes and stoppers shall be installed accurately in
accordance with the drawings, so that a baseline for dimensional
adjustments in field installation may be made. However, elbows,
tees, etc., required for take-off connections outside the pipe rack may
be left in place temporarily, since they may require adjustments.

c) After the pipe has been laid on the rack, the pipe shall be tied with
steel wire to prevent it from falling off until the weld joints are made.
The pipe fittings and weld lines (seams) shall be installed so as not to
be positioned on the beams.

d) Alignment tolerances of flanges connections installed in the piping

shall be within the limits specified in Figure 1.

Translation :6 mm
Separation :6 mm
Parallelism :1mm fer 125
mm of nomonal pipi
diameter but not more than
5mm Fig 1

e). In principle, longitudinal welded seams (joints) of welded pipes shall

be located above the horizontal centerline, if the pipes are installed
horizontally.

6.2 Installation of Valves :

The installation of valves shall be as follows.
a) The valve shall be installed accurately so that its location and the
orientation of the handle is in accordance with the piping drawings.
However, when the orientation of the handle is deemed inappropriate
from the viewpoint of operability or accessibility, the GHP engineer
shall be consulted for directions.

b) The valve shall be checked for its class, body material, and trim
material to prevent any misuse.

FOR PIPING ERCETION Date : 12-12-2021

c) Before installing the valve, the flange faces of the valve and the
connected piping shall be checked to see that they are not damaged or
dirty, and that they are parallel with each other.

d) Valves shall be installed in the closed position, except for plug valves
and ball valves. After being installed, valves shall not be opened
except for pressure testing. Additionally, welding for installation of the
closed position, to prevent the valve seat from being damaged.
e) For lubricant type plug or ball valves, the disc shall be left in the
open position and the lubricant shall be replenished to prevent loss of
the sealant.

f) Globe valves, check valves, control valves, and other similar valves
shall be installed in accordance with the marked direction by checking
the flow direction.

g) To prevent the stem threads from rusting, grease shall be applied

prior to the installation of the valves.

h) To properly install butterfly valves, the matching flanges must be

sufficiently separated before placing the valves in position to prevent
distortion or damage to the sealing of the seats. Wedging or forcing the
valves into position is not acceptable. Butterfly valves shall be installed
with the disk in the open position prior to tightening the bolts. After
bolting, valve operation shall be checked through a complete open and
close cycle operation to ensure proper disk clearance.

6.3 Installation of Safety Valves

The installation of safety valves shall be as follows.
a) Until line pressure testing and flushing have been completed, in
principle, safety valves shall not be installed in the piping. Spool pieces
of the same face-to-face dimension shall be fabricated and installed
instead of safety valves. For threaded safety valves, the piping shall be
capped. However, the safety valve with a test gag may be installed
with piping and subjected to line pressure testing.

b) All safety valves shall be installed after the specified set pressure has
been tested in the field.

c) The seal securing the cap to the safety valve body shall not be
removed without GHP approval.

FOR PIPING ERCETION Date : 12-12-2021

d) The safety valve with a lever shall be installed with the lever oriented
as shown on the drawing.

6.4 Installation of Expansion Joints

The installation of expansion joints shall be as follows.
a) Expansion joints shall be installed accurately at the location and of
the dimensions shown on the piping and detailed drawings in
accordance with the instructions of the GHP engineer, and in a manner
so as not to be connected eccentric with the pipe.

b) Expansion joints shall be installed after confirming that the line has
been completely assembled with all anchors, guides, and stoppers
installed in place as shown on the piping drawings.

c) Expansion joints shall be installed so that no stress is produced

except in the direction intended.

d) Prior to installation, the flow direction of expansion joints shall be

checked to ensure that the sleeve inlet (fixed side) is on the upstream
side.

e) Bellows of expansion joints shall be handled with utmost care, so that

no objects will be dropped onto it and no welding tools will arc strike it
and cause arc damage.

f) After installation, all shipping bolts and fixtures shall be removed and
the joints shall be checked to ensure that nothing obstructs the
expansion movement.

7.PAINTING :
Painting if pipe spools shall be done in accordance to the “Painting
procedure “
Before installation ,all pipe spool welded joint which carried out the
piping shop shall be full coated with specified paint system except field
welding areas.
But all field welding joint are to be left un-insulated and unpainted for
examination during the hydrostatic testing.
