Employee orientation is a crucial process in any organization. It helps new employees become familiar
with their roles, the company culture, policies, and procedures. When I was hired in private
school last 2017, I remembered the time when my employer oriented me. First my
principal warmly welcomed me in the department and she introduced me in my
colleagues. She then discussed the overview of the school history, mission, vision, values,
and overall organizational structure. She clearly explain the job description of employees'
roles and responsibilities, ensuring I understand what is expected. She also emphasized
the policies and procedures such as attendance, time-off, dress code, and any other
relevant guidelines. She further explained the benefits and compensation, package,
including health insurance, retirement plans, and any other perks that I may be entitled to.
She discussed opportunities for training and professional development within the company.
We had a tour in workplace , she then introduced me to different departments and
facilities. My employer emphasized the importance of workplace safety and provides
information about emergency procedures. I was mentored by my coordinators and
colleagues allowing us to have a support system during our initial days. After the
orientation, my mind was at peace because I am in good hands of my new employer. In my
opinion a well-executed employee orientation sets the tone for a positive and productive
work experience, contributing to higher employee satisfaction and retention.
Studying Human Resource and development helps me a lot. I learned what Human Resource and Management is.
By means of this I understand more about the organizational process of Human resource that manages human-related
issues such as administration, hiring, training, performance management, employee motivation, compensation, benefits,
safety, wellness, communication, and organizational development. This subject explained how to hire and trained the
employees. It also enlightened me what are the important things the employees should know in terms of promotions,
turnover the skills needed, the challenges in HR management and strategic planningetc.. I also learned how to answer a
case study so well. I learned more about the development of a strategic technique to recruit, train, and develop the
workers, which are the essential asset for an organization. As such, learners should be ready to master the key traits that
a good hiring manager should possess.
