Read the following instructions carefully and follow them:
1. This question paper contains 38 questions.
2. This Question Paper is divided into 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
3. In Section A, Questions no. 1-18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and questions no.
19 and 20 are Assertion- Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
4. In Section B, Questions no. 21-25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 02
marks each.
5. In Section C, Questions no. 26-31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 03 marks
each.
6. In Section D, Questions no. 32-35 are long answer (LA) type questions, carrying 05 marks
each.
7. In Section E, Questions no. 36-38 are case study based questions carrying 4 marks each
with sub parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
8. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Question of Section B, 2
Questions of Section C and 2 Questions of Section D has been provided. An internal choice
has been provided in all the 2 marks questions of Section E.

From a well-shuffled deck of 52 playing cards, all diamond cards are


removed. Now, a card is drawn from the remaining pack at random.

32. A statue 1.46 m tall stand on the top of a pedestal. From a point on the 5
ground, the anlge of elevation of the top of the statue is 60° and from the
same point, the angle of elevation of the top of the pedestal is 45°. Find
the height of pedestal. ( Use √3 = 1.73)

33. A quadrilateral ABCD is drawn to circumscribe a circle (see Figure). 5


Prove that AB + CD = AD + BC.

Solve 2x + 3y = 11 and 2x – 4y = - 24 and hence find the value of ‘m’
for which y = mx + 3.

SECTION E
Section E consists of 3 case study-based questions of 4 marks each.
36 A circus is a company of performers who pt on shows of acrobats,
clowns etc. to entertain people started around 250 years back, in open
fields, now generally performed in tents.

One such ‘Circus tent’ is shown below:


A tent is in the shape of a cylinder surmounted by a conical top. Jf the
height a diameter of cylindrical part are 9 m and 30 m respectively and
height of conical part is 8 m with same diameter as that of the cylindrical
part, then find

(i) The slant height of conical part.


(ii) The area of the canvas used in making the tent. 1
(iii) Find the cost of canvas, bought for the tent at the rate Rs 200 1

per sq m, if 30 sq m canvas was wasted during stitching.

37 Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has build 24 stands to


accommodate the spectators. Each stand has 50 chairs in first row and
one chair has been increased in each next row. A total of 75 rows have
been build in each stand.

(i) How many chairs in 7th row of each stand?
(ii) Find the difference of chairs between 5th and 25th row of each
stand.
(iii) How many chairs are there in the outermost row of the
stadium?

38 Ruhi is walking away from the base of lamppost at a speed of 1.2 m/s.
The lamp is 3.6 m above the ground.
Based on above information answer the following:

(i) If after 2 seconds, length of shadow is 1 m, what is the height 2


of Ruhi?
(ii) What is the distance of Ruhi from pole at this point? 1
(iii) What will be the length of her shadow after 4 seconds? 1
