Preparing A Culinary Treat : Creamy Mushroom Fettuccine
Pasta, a beloved comfort food, evokes unparalleled warmth and satisfaction.
Throughout my childhood, I've cherished pasta in my favourite white sauce,
and now, I'm excited to share this cherished recipe with a delightful twist
through this article.
The ingredients we require are simple, yet when blended together they produce
an unmatched flavour profile. We need – a specific type of pasta shape- The
Reggia Fettucine, mushrooms, onions, garlic, butter, heavy cream, cream
cheese and a slice of any kind of cheese. The choice of pasta is crucial for this
dish, and Reggia fettuccine is the perfect match. The wide, flat shape of
fettuccine makes it ideal for holding onto the creamy white sauce, ensuring
every forkful is coated in deliciousness. For spices, we need salt, pepper,
oregano, chili flakes, and the secret ingredient – Peri Peri Spice Mix.
We will start off by cooking the pasta to an al dente perfection so that it
provides the ideal base to absorb the creamy sauce. While the pasta boils, we
can start preparing our sauce by sautéing mushrooms in oil with some salt and
pepper. The umami and earthy flavour of the mushrooms add another
dimension to this pasta. We sauté the mushrooms until they turn golden
brown and release their moisture. Next, we add thinly sliced onion and garlic,
cooking them on low heat for 5-6 minutes. This process enhances the overall
aroma of the dish.
Next, we add the heavy cream and let it simmer gently. To achieve the ideal
consistency, we stir in a bit of water. As the sauce reduces, we mix in slices of
cheese and a cube of cream cheese until they melt smoothly. We then
introduce salt to taste, oregano and chili flakes for a classic Italian flavour. To
finish, we season the sauce with Peri Peri Spice Mix, adding a spicy yet
flavourful kick to every bite.
Once the sauce reaches its luscious creamy perfection, we add in the pasta,
toss and turn it so that every strand is thoroughly coated. If the sauce appears
too thick, a splash of pasta water can be added to achieve the desired
consistency. Finally, I like to top it off with a sprinkle of pepper and a touch of
lemon zest to add a tangy aftertaste.
This is how you can make a simple yet delectable culinary treat! You can pair it
with grilled chicken, some spinach or tomatoes to convert this into a more
elegant and substantial meal. This dish is perfect for a cozy weekend dinner
and feels just like warm hug with every mouthful. So, gather your ingredients
and enjoy the magic of creating a dish that is as comforting as it is delicious.
