1. identify the different parts and features of a website;
2. define basic terminologies and concepts of a website; and,
3. design a website indicating all the key concepts of a good website.

WHAT IS WEBSITE?
• A website is a collection of different types of data, which can be anything like text, graphics,
videos etc. combined together to provide some kind of usual information.
• All the data found on a website is bounded together by code, which can range from simple mark-
up like HTML
TYPES OF WEBSITES

PARTS OF A WEBSITE
1. Homepage – a webpage that serves as the starting point of website. It is the default webpage that
loads when you visit a web address that only contains a domain name.
2. Navigation Bar – provides links to different sections within the website.
3. Slider – is a term that refers to a slideshow on a website. An example of a slider can be a revolving
carousel that displays products or photos.
4. Website Header – This is at the top part of a website containing the logo and usually (but not always)
the site’s navigation menu. This part likewise includes the taglines, addresses, contact numbers, or
buttons used to sign up and log in.
5. The sidebar -is the area of the website which displays information that is not part of the page’s main
content like a call to action or links to recent blog posts or social media accounts.
6. A “call to action” – (CTA) is considered one of the most essential parts of a website as it incites
visitors to take action by guiding them on what the visitors really want them to do.
7. Footer – refers to the content area at the bottom of every page that consists a website. This usually
bears the contact details, maps and links to social media accounts among others.
