Service Password for Back End Processor Systems

EFFECTIVITY:
This Service Password change affects all EchoPAC PC, all Vivid 7, Vivid 3 Expert, Vivid 3 Pro, Vivid 4,
Voluson 730 Pro BT03, Voluson 730 Expert BT03, LOGIQ 9, LOGIQ 7, LOGIQ 5, LOGIQ 3,
LOGIQworks and LOGIQ Book Systems.

PROBLEM:
The password which is required to enter the Maintenance Mode and the Global Service User Interface
will change on 1 July, 2004.

SOLUTION:
The new password beginning 1 July, 2004 is:

Gefjon
Use this password (uppercase "G”, lowercase “e” "f” “j” “o” "n") after the above mentioned date.

The new password is to be used for two types of log ins:

Maintenance Mode - When booting up the system with the service dongle attached, a screen will be
displayed to allow Maintenance Access, as shown in Figure 1-1. In the Maintenance Access screen,
leave the Username blank, enter the Password and select OK. From the Start Application screen select
Maintenance. In the Maintenance window select Exit to Windows to access the Windows Desktop.

Global Service User Interface - When the Wrench Icon is selected, at the bottom of the scan display
screen, the Service Login screen is displayed. Select GE Service as the user level, enter the service
password and select Okay.

Select GE Service, then


enter the password.

NOTE: Be sure that the CAPS Lock is off. In R2.X S/W there is CAPS Icon just to the left of the Wrench
Icon. In R3.X S/W this is a Lock Icon. When Caps Lock is on the icons will be highlighted.

NOTE: On the Voluson 730 Expert and PRO systems, entering the Password on the previous screen
and selecting Maintenance mode will automatically activate the Global Service User Interface.
You will not get this Service Login screen on the current version of software.

NOTE: This password is valid only for the second half of the year 2004, from 1 July, 2004 through
31 December, 2004. If the system clock is different from the actual date and is not within the
above mentioned period, this new password will not be valid. Try to set the system clock to the
correct time and date. If you cannot solve your problem, contact your regional service support
center.

The next password change will be 1 January, 2005.
