HALF MEGAWATT SOLAR PLANT EARNING CALCULATION

A 1/2 MW solar power plant in India can generate around 60,000 units of electricity per month
under ideal conditions. The total income from a 1/2 MW solar power plant in India can be calculated
as follows:

 Annual energy output: 7,30,000 units (2,000 units per day x 365 days)

 Government payment per unit: ₹6.90 per unit max as per the Central Electricity Regulatory
Commission (CERC) under Housing Plan. And under Commercial use ₹8.90 per unit.

 Total income over the year: ₹50,37,000

 Under Commercial over the year: ₹64,97,000

 Net maintenance over the year: ₹2,40,000

However, the amount of electricity a solar plant can produce can be affected by several factors,
including: Weather, Panel placement, Equipment quality, Location, and Maintenance.

The cost of cleaning solar panels in India can be between ₹20,000 and ₹50,000 or more per year. This
is because of the high levels of dust and pollution in some parts of the country.
