4. LV Circuits and Distribution boards sizing

Each lighting point is considered with its actual power consumption,
including ballast loss if any.

o Socket outlets are attributed with 200W load each.

o Motors and other loads are considered with their estimated loads.
o Light points are grouped into final circuits not to exceed 10A single-phase
circuit breakers at the maximum in the majority of cases.
o Socket outlets not exceeding eight in numbers are grouped into one circuit
with 16A single-phase circuit breakers. -Motor and power outlets are each
put in a circuit protected by appropriately sized circuit breakers.
o Each distribution panel is sized after summing all the loads connected to it,
and depending on the size of the board 70 to 80 percent, diversity is
allowed.

5. Cables and Conductor sizing

CURRENT CARRYING CAPACITY

-Load current of each circuit is calculated by;
Ib=P/Vcosø for single phase and
Ib= P/√3Vcosø for three phase
Where; Ib is the load current in amperes
P is the connected load in watts , V is the phase voltage in volts
Cosø is the power factor of the current
The current carrying capacity of the cable is determined from standard tables
according to IEC 60364, which take into consideration the conductor type,
insulation and sheath type, and method of installation.
Cables are installed on cable tray, on vertical riser duct, and inside PVC conduit
recessed inside slab and/or wall. Appropriate current carrying capacity tables give
current carrying capacity of cables. The ambient temperature is taken to be 30°C
and cables are not bunched together inside a conduit.

The basic criterion is;

Ib ≤ Iz Where; Ib is the load current and Iz is the current carrying capacity of
the cable under specified condition.
-Circuit breakers overload protection is decided by the criterion;
Ib ≤ In ≤ Iz Where, In is the rated current of the circuit breaker
If ≤ 1.45Iz, If is the current that insures circuit breaker operation in standard
condition.

6. Lighting

Lighting installation is done with PVC insulated conductor of 2.5sqmm in rigid

thermoplastic conduit (that confirm to DIN 49017) of not less than 16mm
diameter under plastered wall or slab and/or ceiling. Plastic type Flush mounted
junction boxes are used where necessary. Every circuit shall have its own neutral
wire and the live wire shall be connected to the switch. Switches for flush and
surface mounting in lighting circuit shall be rated for 10A, 240V AC and shall
conform to ES 3961:2015.

8. Integrated Reception TV System

-9- December ,2022

PROJECT:
PROJECT OWNER: SIDAMO ELTO FARMERS COOPERATIVE UNION

An Integrated Reception TV system is a Satellite reception system is the basic

system for residential type of buildings Television programs transmission
provision.

The IRS system design is achieved by simply installing not more than three or
four Satellite dishes and one Terrestrial Antenna per building, connected to
signal amplifiers, and multi switches terminated to end TV socket- outlets
through splitters.

Wiring through coaxial cabling for standard transmission system. The design
begins from selecting its antenna system installation position and it shall be
installed with PVC insulated RG-59/U coaxial cable inside a minimum conduit
size of 19mm diameter, terminated to junction boxes at every floor.

Further the television system points distributed with the use of appropriate
numbers of splitters, which shall be installed as shown on the drawings with
PVC insulated RG6/U coaxial cables terminating each point in side PVC conduits
of minimum size of 16mm diameter.

9. Lightning Protection System

A lightning protection system based on Early Streamer Emission System air

terminal in accordance to the NF C 17-102 and similar ESE standards shall be
implemented for this project.

The working principle of the system is that during Thunder storm conditions when
the lightning down-leader is approaching ground level, an upward leader may be
created by any conducive surface in case of passive lighting rod, the upward
leader propagate only after a long period of change reorganization in the case of
INTERCEPTION SI ESE, the initiation time of upward leader is greatly reduced.

The INTERCEPTOR SI ESE generates controlled magnitude and frequency pulses

at the tip of the terminal during high static field characteristic prior to a lighting
discharge.
This enables the creation of an upward leader from the terminal that propagates
towards down earth leader coming from the thundercloud.

SYSTEM REQUIRMENTS

The design and installation of the terminals should be completed in compliance

with the requirements of the French standard NF C 17-102. In addition to terminal
placement requirements, the standard requires two down conductors per terminal
to be installed on opposite walls. A down conductor cross-sectional area of ≥
70mm2 is specified. The down conductors are to be secured at three points per
meter with equipotential bonding made to nearby metallic items.

Each down conductor requires a test clamp and dedicated earth system of 10
ohm or less. Should 10 ohms not be achievable, then 100m of buried conductor

with no single vertical or horizontal element exceeding 20m is acceptable. The

lighting protection ground should not be connected to the main building ground
and any nearby buried metallic items.
