A. SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS (SCBA)

1. Is the SCBA face piece stowed with one (1) firefighter's hood and
Fire Fighter Gloves?

REF: NSTM 555- 34.5.1.2

2. Is the latest SCBA short donning procedure readily available and


verified by the Damage Control Assistant? Typically, at DC
FWD/AFT.

3. Does the SCBA have the required 6” orange chemical light attached
for firefighting personnel? Is it expired?

REF: NSTM 555- 35.6.12

4. Is the SCBA stowed above the minimum pressure of 4000 PSI?

5. Is the SCBA face piece damaged/cracked, or are the retaining


clips broken? Is there a voice amplifier installed and working?
Is the SCBA face piece the proper type?

6. Is the SCBA bottle within the 5-year hydrostatic test date or


manufacture date and 15-year total service life limits? Is the
bottle damaged?

7. Is there a SCBA charging assembly at each charging station? Have


the SCBA charging hoses been hydrostatically tested in last 24
months?

36 months?

B. DAMAGE CONTROL TOOL ROLL

1. Does the damage control tool roll contain all items listed on the
PMS card? Is the tool roll bag in good condition? Is the box of
Chem Lights greater than 1 year from expiration?

C. DAMAGE CONTROL BAND-IT KITS


1. Is the Band-It Kit properly sealed with an undamaged tamper
seal?

2. Do the strong-backs have pre-glued 1/8” rubber gasket


material attached? Do they have rounded edges?

3. Does the Band-It kit contain all items listed on the MRC?
Is the Band-It kit bag in good condition?

D. DAMAGE CONTROL MATERIAL BAG


1. Is the Material bag properly sealed with a tamper seal?

3. Is the Lead Sheet located at the bottom of the DC Locker?


Is it double bagged and taped, and are the bags in good
shape?

E. EMERGENCY BREATHING AIR


1. Are all EAB Manifolds properly identified with Green Chem-

Lights that are not expired? Are the Dust Caps in good
condition and installed?

F. STEAM SUITS
1. Are the training steam protective ensembles positively
identified on back with large red "X" and stowed in
container/locker with door/top painted yellow or in bag

Container/locker/bag clearly labeled "FOR TRAINING PURPOSES
ONLY."?

2. Is there the proper amount of Tactical (Non Training) steam
suits in each compartment? If inspected, are they in good
condition?

G. NFTI
1. Is the NFTI in good physical condition and working?

2. Does the NFTI contain all required items? ((3) Red Chem-
Lights, (2) fully charged rechargeable battery packs, (1)
fully charged AA battery pack. )

H. ATMOSPHERE CONTROL
1. Has PMS on LIOH hopper been completed satisfactorily?
Electrical safety check current and material condition
satisfactory?

2. Is each O2 Candle Furnace low pressure gage within


calibration?

I. Fire Hoses/Vari-Nozzles
1. Are Fire Hose and Vari-Nozzle Gaskets and threads properly
cleaned and lubricated?

2. Is the Vari-Nozzle in good operating condition? Does the


Vari-Nozzle flow selector ring turn without depressing
flush-ring lock thumb latch?

3. Are 2 Spanner Wrenches available at each Fire Tree?

REF: NSTM 555- 33.6.8

J. Galley Range Guard System

**DO NOT PHYSICALLY TOUCH ANY RANGE GUARD COMPONENT**

1. Are the range guard nozzle seal disks in place and are the
nozzles clear of grease?

2. Is the range guard N2 cylinder box cover sealed with a


plastic tamper seal? Is the Range Guard N2 Cylinder ring
pin sealed with a plastic tamper seal? Is the range guard
aqueous potassium carbonate cylinder valve ring pin sealed
with a plastic tamper seal?

K. PORTAL FIRE EXTINGUISHERS


1. Are all portable fire extinguishers accessible and
unobstructed?

2. Is the PKP extinguisher PMS being conducted IAW applicable
MRCs? Are the extinguisher record tags filled out
accordingly? Tamper Seals in-tact?

3. Is the CO2 extinguisher PMS being conducted IAW applicable
