Grade: III Sub: Mathematics Topic: Measurement Month: November Week: 2nd week No of sessions: 3
General Objectives:
1. Students will demonstrate their understanding of measurement concepts and develop proficiency in solving its problems.
2. This lesson plan incorporates Bloom's Taxonomy to engage students in various cognitive processes, such as remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing,
evaluating, and creating.

Specific Objectives:
1. Measure and compare lengths, weights, and capacities.
2. Apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations to solve measurement-related problems.
3.Demonstrate proficiency in measurement conversions and problem-solving.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
1.Measure and compare lengths, weights, and capacities.
2.Apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations to solve measurement-related problems.
3.Demonstrate proficiency in measurement conversions and problem-solving.
Session: 1 Initiation ( 1 0 mins): Begin by discussing the basic concepts of measurement - length, weight, and capacity. Teaching Aids/Reminders:
Review the units of measurement (e.g., gram, kilogram, metre, kilometre liters, milliliters) and their symbols.
• Whiteboard or chalkboard
Use visual aids and diagrams to illustrate these concepts. Activity 1: Measurement Scavenger- Divide the class
into small groups and provide each group with a list of objects to measure. Give students rulers or measuring • Markers or chalk
tapes, and ask them to find and measure objects in the classroom or around the school. Students should record
the measurements and the units used for each object. Give students rulers or measuring tapes, and ask them to • Measurement flashcards or
find and measure objects in the classroom or around the school. Students should record the measurements and chart
the units used for each object. • Worksheets for practice
Exploration (25s min): Discuss how students can compare and order objects based on their measurements. Use a • Pencils and erasers
whiteboard or visual aid to create a chart comparing the objects by length, weight, or capacity.
• Timer or stopwatch (optional)
Duration: 40 mins Word Problem : Provide students with measurement-related word problems that require addition, subtraction,
multiplication, or division. Summarize the key concepts learned during the lesson, emphasizing the importance of
measurement in our daily lives. Home work:
Discuss how measurement skills can be used in various professions and everyday activities. Practice ex measurement class test.
Reinforcement (5 mins):
Provide worksheets
If students will be able to solve the worksheets positive reinforcement will be given like clapping, writing their names
on the board, drawing stars on their notebooks to motivate them more.
Session: 2 Initiation (10 mins): Teaching Aids/Reminders:
1. Revision of the concept and doubt session. • Whiteboard or chalkboard
2. Open book form test will be taken by providing MCQ type questions on the board and students will find the • Markers or chalk

Home work:
1. Evaluation part will be done to check student command over the concept.
Practice Measurement for class test.
2. Assessment will also be done on oral question asked in the class.
Reinforcement (5 mins):
If students will be able to solve the MCQ or given the answer of the question asked than positive reinforcement will be
given like clapping, writing their names on the board, drawing stars on their notebooks to motivate them more.
Session: 3 Initiation (15 mins): Teaching Aids/Reminders:
1. Revision of the concept and doubt session. • Whiteboard or chalkboard
2. Subjective test will be given to the students for evaluation of their understanding. • Markers or chalk
Exploration (20 mins): • Measurement flashcards or
chart
1. Students will be assessed on their test and their level of understanding will be checked and if needed gap
session will be taken for more concept clearance. • Worksheets for practice
Reinforcement (5 mins): • Pencils and erasers

2. Students with average or below average marks will also be motivated by performing measurement activity to
Home work:
make them feel they know the concept with little more efforts they will also get good score.
Revision of the chapter measurement
for term 2 and utilization of the
concept in their daily-to-daily life
activities where they can apply it.

Assess students based on their participation in measurement activities, their ability to solve word problems, and their proficiency in
converting measurements.
Assign homework that includes creating their own measurement conversion problems for family members to solve. Encourage students to
include various measurement units in their problems, both within the same system and across different systems (e.g., converting feet to
centimeters or liters to gallons).
