Toy Assignment

Your task for this assignment is to individually create an educational,


safe and age-appropriate toy for a child using clean recyclable, household and
craft materials (toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes, plastic containers, string, pipe
cleaners, tape, etc.). Age ranges will be drawn at random in class and you
may benefit from some additional research on your age group as you begin
drafting ideas for your toy.

Once you have completed your toy design you are to submit a 1 page minimum, 2 page maximum,
typed, 12 pt. font, single spaced response which includes answers for the following;

 Age of the child you are creating a toy for and what is the toy you created
 Explanation of the ways the toy you created can be used
 Explanation of the safety issues considered when constructing the toy
 Detailed outline of the learning needs this toy meets (how it promotes development)
