Summary :

Homeschooling also known as home education is the education of children inside the home.
Home education is usually conducted by a parent or tutor or online teacher. Many families use
less formal ways of educating. Homeschooling is the term commonly used in North America
whereas home education is commonly used in the United Kingdom Europe and in many
commonwealth countries before the introduction of compulsory school attendance laws. Most
childhood education was done by families and local communities. In many develop countries,
homeschooling is a legal alternative to public and privates. In other nations, homeschooling
remains illegal or restricted to specific conditions as recorded by homeschooling international
status and statistics. According to the US National Center for Education Statistics about 3
percent of all children in the US were homeschooled in 2011-2012 school year. There are about
1.7 million homeschooled students in the United States on average home schooled score at or
above the national average on standardized tests. Critics of homeschooling claims that students
lack necessary social skills.

status and statistics. From the government’s perspective, homeschooling is kinda ambiguous. It
allows at least some kids to receive a sub-par education, which is educational neglect. So, the
main reason the government might make homeschooling illegal or highly regulates is that it may
lead to a poor education for their future citizens.

I agree with the speaker’s main statement that homeschooling also known as home education is
the education of children inside the home. Because home education is usually conducted by a
parent or tutor or online teacher, and homeschooling is also about helping children learn how to
think and act independently.
