CONSTITUTION

MADARAKA VISION KIBISI SELF – HELP GROUP


The group shall be known as MADARAKA VISION KIBISI SELF – HELP GROUP, its area of
operation shall be Kibisi Sub-location, Maeni Location of Kimilili Sub County of Bungoma County. Its
physical address shall be P.O BOX 43, Kimilili.
Objectives
 The group shall at all-time assist every member to know God
 The group shall have a welfare support for the group.
 Shall improve the living standards of its members.
N.B Membership is voluntary. We registers with Kshs. 200 for a year.
Rules
 Discipline is key
 Registration fee
 All gender (men/women)
 Committed to our activities/projects
 Absenteeism not allowed
 Elections of leadership after 3yrs.
 Meeting every week/month
 Shares to beneficiary.
 Fines for those who fail/absent meetings
 Constitution amendments are 2/3 of members (1 propose 2 second)
Leadership
We have:-
1. Chairman
2. Vice chairman
3. Secretary
4. Vice secretary
5. Organizing secretary
6. Treasurer
Functions
Chairperson
 Chair all meetings of the group
 Provides a way forward for the group
 Represent and act for and on behalf of the group.
 Alert members on failure/absenteeism
 Bank signatories
Vice chairperson
 Performs the duties of the chairman in absence
 Not bank signatory
Secretary
 Keep all records of minutes of members
 Custodian of all records of the group
 In consultation with the chairman issue notices for all meeting of the group
 Bank signatory
Vice secretary
 Does all work of the secretary in absence
 Not Bank signatory
Treasurer
 Keep records of assets of the group
 Keep financials of the group
 Provides reports of financial statements to the auditor
Organizing secretary
 Mobilizing meetings
 Coordinating with chairman for meetings
Group Finance
 Registration of members
 Fund raising/savings of Kshs. 100 per person
 Group loaning
 Grant-government, N.G.Os, Banks and any investment e.g Saccos
Rules of loaning
 Interest of 10% per month
 Personal shares is for those who comply with group rules
 Defaulters pay through the government after 3 sermons failure
 Saving Kshs. 100 per sitting minimum, maximum of Kshs. 500.
 Written down in books of secretary, treasurer and chairman.
 Give loans according to shares she/he has in the group.

i. Establishment of a Revolving Fund Scheme
ii. Dairy Farming
Article: 2
GROUP FINANCES (Sources of Funds)
1. Membership registration and renewal fees
2. Income generating activities of the group
3. Grants from the government, NGOs/sponsors etc
4. Penalties arising from absenteeism or lateness at meetings
5. The group may borrow from any source.
Article 3:
Membership
A person shall be eligible for MADARAKA VISION KIBISI SELF – HELP GROUP
Membership if she/he meets the following requirements:-
i. One must be 18 years and above
ii. Every member register with non-refundable fee of Kshs. 200.00.
iii. Every member shall be expected to participate in group activities

1. CONTRIBUTIONS
i. Any contribution has to be agreed upon by all members
ii. Any contribution has to be made within the first and last day after acknowledgement
of an event.
iii. Brother and sister will be assisted with ten thousand shillings (Ksh 10,000), Parents
twenty thousand (Ksh 20,000) and a member by twenty thousand shillings (Ksh
20,000)
2. PENALTIES
i. Late coming
a. Meeting starts at 8.30am and thirty minutes there after one has to pay one
hundred shillings(Ksh 20) and absent without apology is 50/=.
b. After one hour prior to the start of the meeting, one is considered absent
