GROUND RULES AND REGULATIONS

KCAST INTRAMURALS 2024-2025

for DODGEBALL

I. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY, LINE-UP & TEAM COMPOSITION

1. All players are students of KCAST.

2. There must be 6 players for each department (2 male, 2 female, 2 LGBTQIA+ member)
3. There will be 30 minutes of forfeiture time.
4. The referee’s decision is final and irrevocable.

II. TOURNAMENT FORMAT/MECHANICS

Team roles and setup

1. The game should be played by two teams; each team should consist of six members; two should
be male, two should be female, and should be a member of the LGBTQIA+
2. Each team will take turns being the offensive team and the defensive team.
3. Only 1 ball will be used by the offensive team at any given time.

Gameplay and Time Limits

1. The offensive team aims to hit as many players as possible from the defensive team within the set
time limit.
2. The offensive team has 5 minutes to hit as many players from the defensive team as possible.
3. The offensive team can use only two balls. After throwing, they must retrieve the balls before
throwing again.
4. The defensive team must stay within the court boundaries.
5. When a defensive player is hit, they’re out of the game.
6. After the 5-minute offensive phase, teams switch roles. Team A becomes the defensive team, and
Team B becomes the offensive team.
7. After both phases, count the number of surviving players from each team. The team with the most
players remaining at the end of the game is declared the winner.
8. The game will follow a knockout system, resulting in a champion and a first runner-up.

Tiebreaker

If there is a tie (example if both teams have the same number of surviving players) or if all players from
both teams are hit:

1. Determine the winner based on the time it took for the offensive team to hit all members of the
defensive team in their respective phases.
2. The team that took less time to hit all members of the opposing team is declared the winner.
3. If both teams have the same surviving number, a sudden death tiebreaker should be done.
4. Each team should pick one player who will act as defensive and two players who will act as
offensive.
5. Both teams will play at the same time, and the team that is the last to be hit will be the winner.
