2. In an A.P., the sum of its first n terms is n2 +2n. Find its 18th term.
3. In an A.P., if S21 = 1250, S20 = 1200, find a21.
4. Determine k so that k + 2, 4K – 6 and 3k – 2 are three consecutive terms of an A.P.?
5. Show that a – b, a, a + b form consecutive terms of an A. P.
6. The angles of a triangle are in an A.P.. the least being half the greatest. Find the angles.
7. The sum of three numbers in an A.P. is 21 and their product is 231. Find the numbers.
8. Which term of the A.P. 6, 10, 14, … is 102? Also find the sum.
9. The 8th term of an A.P is – 23 and its 12th term is – 39. Find the A.P.
10. The 6th term of an A.P. is zero. Prove that its 21st term is triple its 11th term.
11. Find the sum of all two digit odd positive numbers.
12. Find the sum of all multiples of 9 lying between 300 and 700.
13. Find the sum of the first 25 terms of the A.P. Whose nth term is given by tn = 2 – 3n.
14. How many terms of the series 63, 60, 57, 54…… be taken so that the sum is 693? Explain
the double answer.
15. Find the sum of first 20 terms of an A.P. in which 3rd term is 7 and 7th term is two more
than thrice of its 3rd term.
16. If m times the mth term of an A.P. is equal to n times the nth term, show that (m + n)th
term of the A.P. is zero.
17. Find whether 5, 5 + √7, 5 + √28, 5 + √63, 5 + √112…..forms an A.P.
18. The interior angles of a polygon are in an A.P. The smallest angle is 120º and the
common difference is 5º. Find the number of sides of the polygon.
19. Solve: 1 +6 + 11 + 16 + …. + x = 148.
