I Am Sharing 'Palestine' With You
For over 54 tumultuous years, the Israeli military occupation has cast a shadow over every aspect of
Palestinian life, inflicting severe constraints on daily routines. Palestinians have endured stifling
limitations on their movements, faced systemic discrimination, and grappled with constant threats to
their homes and livelihoods.
The situation in Gaza, a region besieged by a relentless 14-year blockade, is a harrowing example of
collective punishment and military aggression. The Palestinian population in Gaza has endured
unimaginable hardships, compounded by the severe restrictions imposed on their civil and political
rights.
Within this tumultuous landscape, access to healthcare becomes a critical concern. The effectiveness
and availability of healthcare services are essential components of any functioning society. However,
for Palestinians living under occupation or as refugees, these fundamental rights are frequently denied
due to the challenging circumstances in which they exist and the pervasive limitations on their basic
rights.
The denial of access to quality healthcare represents just one facet of the multifaceted challenges
faced by Palestinians in their quest for dignity, freedom, and self-determination amidst a complex
geopolitical backdrop.
In Gaza, there's been a tragic incident where a six-year-old child passed away due to starvation,
dehydration, and a lack of medical supplies at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. This heartbreaking loss adds to
the distressing toll of 41 Palestinian lives lost to malnutrition since Israel's conflict with Gaza began.
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees highlighted in June that over 50,000 children in Gaza urgently
need medical intervention for severe malnutrition.
Recently, Israeli forces launched a heavy assault on Gaza City, with tanks entering the city from various
directions, causing significant destruction. The Gaza Civil Emergency Service reported that numerous
individuals may have lost their lives in eastern Gaza, but rescue operations were hindered by the
ongoing military actions in several suburbs.
The Israeli military stated that their operation aimed to target militant infrastructure in Gaza and
claimed to have neutralized more than 30 fighters perceived as a threat to Israeli forces. The situation
in Gaza remains dire, with the civilian population enduring the devastating consequences of the
conflict.

In northern Gaza, the situation is dire as people have been surviving on just about 245 calories per day
since January due to ongoing Israeli military actions. More than 300,000 individuals are trapped in the
area, unable to escape. Israel's tactics include using starvation as a weapon of war, exacerbating the
suffering of the population.
The Israeli government has been conducting intense airstrikes and ground assaults on Palestinian
civilians, imposing a severe blockade on Gaza by restricting access to essential resources like water,

food, electricity, and fuel. This blockade has led to a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with people facing
starvation, death, and diseases.
In Rafah, located in the southern part of Gaza, over a million people sought refuge following
evacuation orders and to evade continuous attacks. However, with the recent Israeli invasion of Rafah,
hundreds of thousands have been displaced yet again, some for the fifth time since October, to already
overcrowded shelters and camps. The closure of nearby border crossings has resulted in a scarcity of
fuel, food, and critical aid, further worsening the plight of the displaced population.
In Gaza right now, there are only 13 hospitals still operational, with 23 having been destroyed. Among
these, only two hospitals are offering maternity services.
The most vulnerable groups include individuals with disabilities, pregnant or new mothers, those
recovering from injuries, and people with chronic illnesses or weakened immune systems. Israel's
attacks and evacuation directives have forced approximately 2 million people, which is over 85% of
Gaza's population, to flee their homes.
Due to this massive displacement, women are facing challenges such as a lack of privacy and limited
access to restroom facilities. Additionally, many areas in Gaza lack access to running water, making
something as basic as taking a shower a rare luxury.

ARE THE WOMEN IN GAZA
PROVIDED WITH
MENSTRUATIONAL ESSENTIALS?
In Gaza, many women and girls are facing a severe shortage of
essential hygiene products like pads, toilet paper, and even access to
running water and toilets due to the ongoing conflict. This lack of basic
hygiene items puts them at risk of reproductive and urinary tract
infections.
However, not all women can access or take these pills for various
reasons. As a result, some women, as mentioned , are using
alternatives like old clothes, towels, or even parts of their tents as
makeshift pads to address their menstrual needs. The situation

these trying times.

their own land. It's disheartening that Palestine is often overlooked on
maps, symbolizing the marginalization and erasure of their existence
on a global scale. The plight of the Palestinian people calls for urgent
attention and support to address the humanitarian crisis they are
facing.

ceasefire to halt the violence and bloodshed, the conflict persists,
prolonging the suffering of the Palestinian population. It is essential to
address these pressing issues and work towards a sustainable
resolution that respects the rights and dignity of all involved.
