“Urgent Call for Global Support: Addressing the

Humanitarian Crisis in Palestine”

WHATS HAPPENING IN PALESTINE AND WHAT HAS

HAPPENED BACK IN TIME?
In the conflict-ridden events of the July war in 1967, Israel seized control of the West Bank, Gaza, and
East Jerusalem, altering the course of Palestinian history. The subsequent annexation of East
Jerusalem marked a pivotal moment in the ongoing struggle for Palestinian rights and sovereignty.

For over 54 tumultuous years, the Israeli military occupation has cast a shadow over every aspect of
Palestinian life, inflicting severe constraints on daily routines. Palestinians have endured stifling
limitations on their movements, faced systemic discrimination, and grappled with constant threats to
their homes and livelihoods.

The situation in Gaza, a region besieged by a relentless 14-year blockade, is a harrowing example of
collective punishment and military aggression. The Palestinian population in Gaza has endured
unimaginable hardships, compounded by the severe restrictions imposed on their civil and political
rights.

Within this tumultuous landscape, access to healthcare becomes a critical concern. The effectiveness
and availability of healthcare services are essential components of any functioning society. However,
for Palestinians living under occupation or as refugees, these fundamental rights are frequently denied
due to the challenging circumstances in which they exist and the pervasive limitations on their basic
rights.
The denial of access to quality healthcare represents just one facet of the multifaceted challenges
faced by Palestinians in their quest for dignity, freedom, and self-determination amidst a complex
geopolitical backdrop.

In Gaza, there's been a tragic incident where a six-year-old child passed away due to starvation,
dehydration, and a lack of medical supplies at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. This heartbreaking loss adds to
the distressing toll of 41 Palestinian lives lost to malnutrition since Israel's conflict with Gaza began.
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees highlighted in June that over 50,000 children in Gaza urgently
need medical intervention for severe malnutrition.

Recently, Israeli forces launched a heavy assault on Gaza City, with tanks entering the city from various
directions, causing significant destruction. The Gaza Civil Emergency Service reported that numerous
individuals may have lost their lives in eastern Gaza, but rescue operations were hindered by the
ongoing military actions in several suburbs.

The Israeli military stated that their operation aimed to target militant infrastructure in Gaza and
claimed to have neutralized more than 30 fighters perceived as a threat to Israeli forces. The situation
in Gaza remains dire, with the civilian population enduring the devastating consequences of the
conflict.

The Israelites are having no shame,no fear or god! People are dying constantly due to malnutrition,
devastation of their shelters, as well as Palestinians are seeing their loved one dying Infront of their
eyes, the Israeli force

In northern Gaza, the situation is dire as people have been surviving on just about 245 calories per day
since January due to ongoing Israeli military actions. More than 300,000 individuals are trapped in the
area, unable to escape. Israel's tactics include using starvation as a weapon of war, exacerbating the
suffering of the population.

The Israeli government has been conducting intense airstrikes and ground assaults on Palestinian
civilians, imposing a severe blockade on Gaza by restricting access to essential resources like water,

2
food, electricity, and fuel. This blockade has led to a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with people facing
starvation, death, and diseases.

In Rafah, located in the southern part of Gaza, over a million people sought refuge following
evacuation orders and to evade continuous attacks. However, with the recent Israeli invasion of Rafah,
hundreds of thousands have been displaced yet again, some for the fifth time since October, to already
overcrowded shelters and camps. The closure of nearby border crossings has resulted in a scarcity of
fuel, food, and critical aid, further worsening the plight of the displaced population.

In Gaza right now, there are only 13 hospitals still operational, with 23 having been destroyed. Among
these, only two hospitals are offering maternity services.

The most vulnerable groups include individuals with disabilities, pregnant or new mothers, those
recovering from injuries, and people with chronic illnesses or weakened immune systems. Israel's
attacks and evacuation directives have forced approximately 2 million people, which is over 85% of
Gaza's population, to flee their homes.

Due to this massive displacement, women are facing challenges such as a lack of privacy and limited
access to restroom facilities. Additionally, many areas in Gaza lack access to running water, making
something as basic as taking a shower a rare luxury.

3
ARE THE WOMEN IN GAZA
PROVIDED WITH
MENSTRUATIONAL ESSENTIALS?
In Gaza, many women and girls are facing a severe shortage of
essential hygiene products like pads, toilet paper, and even access to
running water and toilets due to the ongoing conflict. This lack of basic
hygiene items puts them at risk of reproductive and urinary tract
infections.

Despite these challenges, women are finding ways to manage their

menstrual cycles. Some are resorting to taking pills to stop their
periods, as described by Usrof and her friends. They feel compelled to
take this step due to the constant movement and lack of stability
caused by the conflict. For them, it’s a choice between taking the pills
or dealing with the difficulties of menstruation in their current
circumstances.

However, not all women can access or take these pills for various
reasons. As a result, some women, as mentioned , are using
alternatives like old clothes, towels, or even parts of their tents as
makeshift pads to address their menstrual needs. The situation

4
highlights the immense challenges faced by women in Gaza during
these trying times.

In Gaza, many Palestinian women are turning to menstrual-delaying

pills because of the challenging and unhygienic situations they are
enduring due to the ongoing Israeli offensive.

Faced with displacement, cramped living conditions, and a lack of

essential items like water and menstrual hygiene products such as
pads and tampons, women are opting to take norethisterone tablets.
These pills, typically used for conditions like heavy menstrual bleeding,
endometriosis, and period pain, are being used by women to avoid the
discomfort and challenges associated with menstruation.

In Gaza, around 10,000 Palestinian women have lost their lives,

including approximately 6,000 mothers, resulting in 19,000 children
being left without parents. The women who have survived the Israeli
attacks and military actions have been forced to flee their homes,
become widowed, and are struggling with the threat of hunger. This
tragic and unequal effect highlights how the conflict in Gaza is not only
targeting the population as a whole but is particularly impacting
women, making it a war that specifically targets them.

5
“In Gaza, we [women] cannot meet our simplest and most basic
needs: eating well, drinking safe water, accessing a toilet, having
(sanitary) pads, taking a shower, … changing our clothes…” – Gazan
woman.

The situation in Palestine is deeply concerning and heartbreaking.

Many Palestinians are losing their lives, including innocent children
who are becoming victims of the conflict. The population is decreasing
due to the high number of casualties. Tragically, cases of rape and
murder are on the rise, causing immense suffering and fear among the
people.

Health issues are also becoming more prevalent as the violence

persists, with limited access to medical care and resources
exacerbating the situation. The lack of proper infrastructure and
governance further compounds the challenges faced by the Palestinian
population, leaving them vulnerable and struggling to cope.

Unfortunately, efforts to establish a ceasefire have been unsuccessful,

prolonging the suffering of the people in Palestine. The dominance of
Israel over Palestine has led to a loss of autonomy and control over

6
their own land. It's disheartening that Palestine is often overlooked on
maps, symbolizing the marginalization and erasure of their existence
on a global scale. The plight of the Palestinian people calls for urgent
attention and support to address the humanitarian crisis they are
facing.

The situation for women in Palestine is especially distressing. Sadly,

there have been reports of increased cases of rape as a result of the
ongoing conflict. Women are facing unimaginable horrors and are
vulnerable to such heinous acts in the midst of the chaos and violence.
It’s crucial to shed light on these atrocities and work towards creating
a safer environment for all women in Palestine.

In Palestine is dire on multiple fronts. The lack of proper infrastructure

has left the population vulnerable and struggling to access essential
services. Children are tragically being killed, adding to the already
devastating loss of innocent lives. The absence of a stable government
has further complicated matters, leaving the Palestinian people without
effective leadership to address their needs.

The encroachment of Israel on Palestinian territories has led to a loss

of sovereignty and control over their own land. Despite calls for a

7
ceasefire to halt the violence and bloodshed, the conflict persists,
prolonging the suffering of the Palestinian population. It is essential to
address these pressing issues and work towards a sustainable
resolution that respects the rights and dignity of all involved.

The people in Palestine are facing a critical situation where basic

necessities and fundamental human rights are being denied. The
ongoing conflict and instability have created a humanitarian crisis,
leaving many Palestinians without access to essential resources like
food, clean water, and healthcare. The lack of basic necessities is a
severe violation of their human rights, depriving them of the most
fundamental elements needed for survival and dignity. It is crucial to
address these injustices and work towards ensuring that all individuals
in Palestine have their basic needs met and their human rights
respected.

Now the question arises that what

can we do for Palestine as a Muslim
nation?
~Speak up about the oppression of Palestinians

8
~Educate yourself and others, and do what you can

~Support Palestinian Businesses

~Donate to Reputable Organizations

~BOYCOTT ISRAELI PRODUCTS,BRANDS ETC

~KEEP RAISING YOUR VOICES FOR OUR MUSLIM BROTHERS AND

SISTERS

~raise funds

I’m literally observing that people are posting story’s having the
statement “FREE PALESTINE”

BUT

They are shamelessly using Israeli products

Hyping those who support Israel

Just saying ‘free Palestine’ thrice a day won’t solve our problems

As a Muslim community we need to strictly boycott these stuff, post

PALESTINE

In conclusion there is urgent need for global attention and support to

address the humanitarian crisis in the region. It is crucial to advocate
for the rights and well-being of the Palestinian people, work towards a
peaceful resolution, and ensure that basic necessities and human

9
rights are upheld for all individuals in Palestine. Let’s stand together in
solidarity and call for justice and peace in Palestine.
