REMINDER: The submission deadline cannot be extended under any circumstances. The
guidelines will be released early in Week 1. Failure to submit ALL coursework components,
including mid-term for this course, will result in an 'F' grade!
It's absolutely crucial to understand the potential consequences of not submitting a single
coursework component. This could lead to a complete failure in all assessments,
highlighting the severity of the situation and the absolute necessity of completing and
submitting all tasks.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Failure to complete or submit any ONE of the components listed below will result in an 'F'
grade for the entire course. This means that if you miss a single component, your overall
grade for the course will be an 'F '.

A) Individual Assignments:
1. Brochure/Picture Advertisement
2. Audio Advertisement
3. Product Video Showcase
B) Group Assignments:
1. Business Plan (Documentation)

missed essential announcements in the classes or on Teams, or if you fail to respond to the
lecturers or tutors trying to reach you in any other channels for urgent corrections for the
coursework submissions.

It is your responsibility to find members to form a group to complete the group assignments.
We will only be able to assist if you approach us on time, preferably before the half semester
and we will ignore your request and suggest to drop for this course for failing to find a group
for group assignment at almost the end of the semester. If you find yourself struggling, it
may be advisable to consider dropping this course.

Technopreneurship
Digital Entrepreneurship
Outline (TOTAL: 15% marks)
This is an individual project to be completed by each student that is NOT related to Assignment 1
(Business Plan), Assignment 2 (Sales Report), and Assignment 3 (Pitch Deck-Oral Presentation). It
constitutes 15% of the marks for your overall coursework marks. There are THREE parts to this
individual project.
1. Image Poster Advertisement (5%)
2. Audio Radio Advertisement (5%)
3. Video Showcase of a Product/Service Advertisement (5%)

General Individual Project Guidelines

1. The student must complete their work individually on their own.
2. The product or service can be real-life or imaginary.
3. The product or service for the three advertisements can be related or independently different
from each other.
4. The project is not related to your group assignments 1, 2, and 3. However, you can refer to the
digital marketing section and utilise the information to promote your desired product.
5. Although it is not related to your assignments 1, 2, and 3, you still can go ahead to promote and
liaise with your assignment’s product in the three categories of the advertisement.
6. If you promote real-life products and services, you must overlay or state that the works are just
for “EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE ONLY” due to copyright issues.
7. Recommended to include an element of content marketing to benefit your prospective
customers, especially for showcase video.
8. You DO NOT need to write a report for this individual project, and the multimedia files
are in softcopy only!

Content marketing is a form of marketing focused on creating, publishing, and distributing content for a targeted
audience online. Businesses often use it to achieve the following goals: attract attention and generate leads, expand their
customer base, generate or increase online sales, increase brand awareness or credibility, and engage an online
community of users. Content marketing attracts new customers by creating and sharing valuable free content. It helps
companies create sustainable brand loyalty, provides valuable information to consumers, and makes a willingness to
purchase products from the company in the future. Content marketing starts with identifying the customer's needs. After
that, the information can be presented in various formats, including news, video, white papers, e-books, infographics,
email newsletters, case studies, podcasts, how-to guides, question and answer articles, photos, blogs, etc. Content
marketing requires continuous delivery of compelling content, preferably within a content marketing strategy.

Individual Project Guidelines (PART 1 – 5%)
Image Poster Advertisement

1. You need to create an image poster advertisement for a product or service intended to be printed
in the catalogue, newspaper, magazine, or even digitally for online pages.
2. Submit ONLY the final softcopy of the rendered image in *.jpg format.
3. However, you must include the following image advertisement elements:
a. The Offer - A good print advertisement offers readers an immediate benefit or reason to
learn more about your product. This can be anything from a hot new product to a sale or
limited-time discount. Your offer is the hook that draws the reader in, and it should be
the focus of your ad.
b. The Headline and Sub-Headline - The ad title offers a short, snappy preview of what
the reader will find in the copy. Your headline explains the critical benefit or offers you
are providing to the reader. In general, headlines are the most significant part of the
advertisement. A good headline keeps a potential customer reading; a weak headline and
the customer turns the page.
c. Product/Service Image - A print ad includes one or two striking pictures that illustrate
your offer. If you are offering a free product, your ad should consist of an attractive
product photo. If you highlight a hot new product or sale, your image should be of that
hot new product. If possible, run your pictures in colour to draw in readers.
d. The Body - The body of your ad includes details about your offer, details about your store
or product, and any other information you want to highlight. Keep your body text short
and easy to read. Use bullet points or subheadings to break up the text. Readers want to
get the information they need as quickly as possible.
e. Call to Action - Include a sense of urgency in your ad. Don't just tell readers about your
product; urge them to take action to benefit from your offer. Set a time limit and clear,
concise instructions for what readers should do. Call to action statements include: "Call
Today to Reserve Your Copy," "Only 100 Copies in Store, Come into Reserve Yours," and
"Only the First 50 Customers Receive a Free T-Shirt, Come in Today."
f. Contact Information and Store Logo - Your ad should include the address and
phone number for your store, along with any other information a reader needs to follow
through on your call to action. You can substitute the address with a web address or email
too. Also, include a logo for your product to build up brand recognition.
g. Smart Ad Placement - Once you have designed a successful advertisement, place it in
publications that reach your target market. Before placing your ad, ask the publication for
statistics on their demographics. Choose a publication that comes with potential clients
of the right age, demographic, and income bracket. In this section, you just arrange the
advertising elements neatly in your poster design.
h. Slogan - A short and striking or memorable phrase used in advertising. E.g. ‘The power
of dreams’, ‘Finger Licking Good’, ‘Just do it’ etc.
4. You can refer to Sample 1 - Image Catalogue Advertisement.jpg for references.
5. You must set the image size in A4.
6. You can use ANY software tools you like, for example, Microsoft Publishers, Microsoft
Words, Adobe Photoshops, etc.
7. Tips: Adobe Spark, Canva, Visme, Stencil, Crello, DesignCap, MyCreativeShop,
PosterMyWall, Piktochart are some of the Top Free Poster and Flyer Maker Software.

Individual Project Guidelines (PART 2 – 5%)
Audio Advertisement
1. You need to create an audio advertisement for a product or service intended to be aired on
Spotify, radio, podcast, etc.
2. The audio duration must be within 50 seconds - 1 minute.
3. Submit ONLY the final softcopy of the rendered audio in *.mp3 format.
4. You can invite your friends or other family members to be the co-voice actors/singers/narrators
to enrich your variety. However, you must be the MAIN voice actor/singer/narrator.
5. Please be reminded that audio depends mostly on hearing. You are encouraged to download and
insert background music/sound effects or beats to be blended into your audio advertisement to
make your audio advertising livelier.
6. The audio advertisement can be:
a. Jingle - A jingle is a short song or tune used in advertising and other commercial uses.
Jingles are a form of sound branding. A jingle contains one or more hooks and meaning
that explicitly promote the advertised product or service, usually through one or more
advertising slogans.
b. Voice-over/acting - An advertising voice-over not only has to convey a specific message
precisely, but it must also support your brand and deliver the emotional message the
advertisement intends to invoke.
c. Narrative Advertising – It conveys the core message by telling a story. The present
study investigates the persuasion effects and mediation process for narrative ads and how
the presentation format of the story (verbal versus visual) may influence consumers'
information processing.
d. Live Read - The ESPN Radio show Mike & Mike is an excellent example of a format
where you can hear commercials read in real-time online by a radio announcer, a type of
commercial also known as a live read. This advertisement is more effective with a top-
rated on-air host because advertisers hope that the host's voice will carry extra weight
with the show's audience.
e. Sponsorship - Many radio stations implement sponsorships for specific radio segments,
such as traffic, weather, or sports scores during halftime of the big game. It will generally
sound like this: 'This hour's weather update brought to you by Beach Rentals. Call Beach
Rentals for all of your vacation needs.'
f. Onsite Broadcasting Events - Radio hosts are local and regional celebrities in their
own right. Many people follow them and have an affinity for listening to certain on-air
personalities. Many times, radio stations will offer onsite events to their advertisers. This
includes the on-air personality coming to the business location and broadcasting live to
try and get fans to go to the business.
7. You can choose either ONE type above or MIXING of a few types. For references, refer to
Sample 2 - Audio Advertisement.mp3.
8. You can use ANY software such as Sony Soundforge, Adobe Audition, Nero Wave
Auditor, etc.
9. Tips: What is the best app for audio editing for free? Audacity. One of the original free
audio editors and still the best. Ocenaudio. Another powerful audio editor, but easier to master
than Audacity. Ashampoo Music Studio. Fully featured media player and audio editor
combo. Audiotool. A free online audio editor with great beat mixing facilities. Acoustica.

Individual Project Guidelines (PART 3 – 5%)
Video Showcase Advertisement

1. You need to create a video showcase for a product or service intended to be aired on Television,
YouTube, Vimeo, Social Media, etc.
2. The video duration must be within 4-5 minutes.
3. Submit ONLY the final softcopy of the rendered video in *.mp4 or *.avi format.
4. You can invite your friends or other family members to be the extras to enrich your variety.
However, you must be the MAIN voice actor /narrator in the video. That means you must
(mandatory) appear inside the video even just a while e.g. camera webcam at the side in the
video, whole acting scenes or green screen background narrator or others.
5. You are encouraged to add background music, images, texts or creatively merge them with other
short videos to make your showcase enjoyable.
6. What is a showcase video? A product/service showcase video explains and visually exhibits a
product’s/service’s tangible benefits. Many product videos tend to emphasise a
product’s/service’s unique features, but one main thing that truly distinguishes a good
product/service video is its ability to exhibit how it solves problems.
7. Seven Elements of A Great Product Video:
a. Focus on the problem (and the solution)
b. Keep it short and sweet (KISS)
c. Focus on one key feature
d. Provide information and value
e. Turn it into a series
f. Find an interesting angle
g. Include a clear CTA- Call to action is a marketing term for any design to prompt an
immediate response or encourage a quick sale. A CTA most often refers to the use of words
or phrases that can be incorporated into sales scripts, advertising messages, or web pages,
which compel an audience to act in a specific way.
8. You can use ANY software such Adobe Premier, OBS studio, Filmora, Vegas etc.
9. Tips: What is the best video editor for free? Lightworks. The best free video editing
software overall. KineMaster. The best free video editing software for mobile. OpenShot. The
best free video editing software that's open source. DaVinci Resolve. VideoPad. Windows
Video Editor. VSDC. Hitfilm Express etc.
