Guidance for H900 Software Upgrading

There are two parts upgrading, software in the mainboard and in the touch screen.

Section 1. Mainboard Software Upgrading


Part 1: USB-RS232 cable driver installation.

1. Connect USB-RS232 cable to your PC, then install the driver.

2. Open “Property” menu of “My computer”, then open “Device manager” menu.

3. Find “Port (COM and LPT)”, click right button on “Prolific USB-to-Serial Bridge” to update driver. After

you finish the driver installation, you will find the COM Port number as below. Remember the port number.

Note: Please make sure the driver is installed well; otherwise you cannot upgrade software.

Part 2: Hardware connection

1. Open the rear cover of the analyzer first.

2. Connect Cable 1 with Cable 2.

3. Connect cable 1 for upgrading software with serial port J22

4. Connect Cable 2 to PC.


5. Turn the button on main board to “ON” side (remember to turn back to “1, 2” when upgrading is finished):

Part 3: Software upgrading.

1. Turn on analyzer.

2. Open the “Flash Magic” folder

3. Double click “FlashMagic.exe”.

4. Select COM Port which you find in Part 1, Step 3. Then select and input related setting as the showed above.

5. Click “Browse…” button and then find the software (such as ......hex)
6. Click “Start” button to start software upgrading.

7. If you get error report as above, you need to restart analyzer and then click “Start” button again.

8. During upgrading, you will hear sound. After software upgrading finished, the sound will disappear. Adjust the switch
to 1, 2 side. And please turn off the device.

Section 2. Screen Software Upgrading

Part 1. Preparing

Make sure the screen software in the folder of XRD_TFT at the root directory of the TF card.

Part 2. Screen Software upgrading


1. Loose the two screws marked by red circle.
2. Insert the TF Card into the slot.
3. Reboot the machine, it will run the screen software upgrading automatically.

When upgrading finish, the machine will show self-checking and stop at the page of asking for calibration.

4. Switch off the machine, and take away the TF card, tighten the screws and close the shell.

Software upgrading finish.
