Pythagorean Theorem
Pythagorean Theorem
Definition:
The Pythagorean Theorem states that in a right triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse
(the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other two
sides.
Formula:
Proof:
1. Construct a square with side length (a + b), dividing it into four right triangles and a smaller
square.
2. Compare the areas: Total area = (a + b)^2, which is equal to 4 * (1/2 * a * b) + c^2.
