NĀLA-T TIJĀNĪ ABŪ-L ABBAS ĀYĀTI

A POEM IN PRAISE OF SHAYKH ABUL-ABBAS AHMAD al-TIJANI (RA)

ِ ‫(اس آي‬
‫َات‬ ِ َ‫ج‬5‫ال الت‬
ِ ‫اني أَبُو ا ْل َعب‬ َ َ‫ن‬

ِ ‫َق ْد فَازَ ِمنْهَا ُقطُوبٌ بِا ْل َك َرام‬

‫َات‬

Nāla-t Tijani Abū-l ‘Abbās Āyāti

Qad fāza minhā Qutūbun bi-l karāmāti

Indeed, Abul-Abbas al-Tijani attained such Wonders (from Allah)!

All Saints gained their bounties (of Allah) through them!

‫دنَا‬5ِ ‫ِسي‬
َ ‫خ ُر إِذْ جَ ا َءتْ ب‬
ْ َ‫ش ا ْلف‬ ِ ‫لِع‬
َ ‫َائ‬

ِ ‫ َ َقام‬O‫ا‬
‫َات‬ ْ ‫ُقطْبِ ا ْل ُقطُوبِ فَرِيدًا ِفي‬

Li ‘Āisha-l fakhru Idh jā'at bi-Sayyidinā

Qutbi-l Qutūbi Fareeda fī-l Maqāmāti

All pride to Aisha (his mother)...for giving birth to our Master!

The Supreme Saint of Saints…the Unique in Ranks!

‫يَ ِة‬Sَِ ‫ن ا ْلو‬

ُ ‫س ْلطَا‬
ُ ‫يَ ِة‬Sَِ ‫ختْ ُم ا ْلو‬
َ

ِ ‫ي‬Sَِ ‫يَـــ ِة ِمفْتَاحُ ا ْلو‬Sَِ ‫بَابٌ لِ ْلو‬

‫َات‬

Khatmu-l Wilāyati Sultānu-l Wilāyati

Bābun lil-Wilāyati Miftāhu-l Wilāyati

The Seal of Sainthood…the Sultan of Sainthood!

The Door of Sainthood …the Key of Sainthood!

َ ‫غ َرامًا ِم ْن‬
‫موَ (د ِت ِه‬ ِ ‫اك‬
َ ُ‫همْ ت‬ َ َ‫لِذ‬

‫تَ ْعتَاد ُِنـي زَفَ َراتٌ ُك (ل أ َ ْو َقا ِتـي‬

Li-dhāka himtu gharāmān min mawaddatihi

Ta‘atādunī zafarātun kulla awqātī

That’s why I became so enamoured in his love…

 Continuously weeping & sighing fervently!

‫الش ْيخَ حَ م( َل ِني‬

( َ ‫أ َ ْق‬
( َ ‫و ِر أ‬l‫سمْ تُ بِالط‬
‫ن‬
ِ َ‫ُنَاج‬O‫ا‬
‫ـاة‬ ْ َ‫مَـا د (ُك طُـو ٌر ب ِِه َو ْقت‬

Aqsamtu bi-t Tūri Anna-sh Shaykha hammalanī

Mā Dukka tūrun bihi waqta-l munājāti

I swear by Mount Tur (where Musa AS spoke to Allah), the Shaykh made me carry…

The (secret) which blasted the Tur at that moment of Divine Conversation!

ُ‫ن ُروح‬ ْ ‫ِ َر‬pq‫خلِيفَ ُة ا‬

ِ ْ‫مزُ ا ْل َكو‬ َ

ِ ‫ص ٌل لِ ْلوُجُ ـود‬
‫َات‬ َ ‫جَ ِميــعِ ا ْل‬
ْ ‫خ ْلقِ َو‬
ْ َ sَ َ‫هو‬

Khalīfatu-llahi Ramzu-l Kaun Rūhu

Jamī‘i-l khalqi wahwa la-aslun lil-Wujūdāti

The Deputy of Allah…the Cypher of this Universe!

The Spirit of all Creation…And the Origin of this Existence!

ِ ‫رع‬l ‫رقُ ا ْلبَ ْرقِ ِم ْرعَا ُد ال‬5 َ‫مب‬

‫ُود َو‬ ُ

ِ ‫ن َو ِمنْ َقــاذُ ا ْلبَ ِري‬

‫(ــات‬ ْ ‫ِممْ ــطَا ُر‬
ِ ‫ُزُو‬O‫ا‬

Mubarriqu-l barqi mir‘ādu-r ru‘ūdi wa

Mimtāru-l muzūni wa minqādhu-l bariyyāti

The causer of Lightening…the causer of Thunder!

The sender of Rains…the Saviour of Mankind!

ٍyَ ‫ن ِم ْن َل‬
ِ ‫َ َق ْعبَـــا‬S ‫ َ َكا ِر ُم‬O‫ا‬
ْ ‫ك‬َ ‫ِت ْل‬

ِ ‫ َ ُروم‬s‫ا‬
‫َات‬ ْ َ ‫ك ا ْلوِ َراث َ ُة ِم ْن أ‬
ْ ‫ع َلى‬ َ ‫ِت ْل‬
Tilka-l Makārimu Lā qa‘abāni min labanin

Tilka-l wirāthatu min a‘alā-l arūmāti

Those are the virtues (of a true Saint)…and not cups of Milk (i.e. something insignificant)!

That indeed is the Inheritance (he received)…from the Best of Lineages!

َ ‫بُو ِ(ة‬l‫ع الن‬

‫هـٰذَا‬ ِ َ‫هـٰذَا ابْ ُن ف‬
ُ ‫اطمَ ٍة فَ ْر‬ َ

‫َات‬ ٍ ‫مع‬
ِ ‫ْط لِ ْلمَ َقام‬ َ ‫أَحْ مَ ُد ا ْل‬
ُ ِ ‫ختْم‬

Hādhā ibnu Fātimatin far‘u-n Nubuwwati hādhā

Ahmadu-l khatmi mu‘utin lil-Maqāmāti

For this is the Son of Fatimah….the offshoot of Prophethood!

This is Ahmad the Seal….the Distributer of Ranks!

‫هـٰذَا ا (ل ِذي ِمنْ ُه أ َ ْرجُ ـــو ُك (ل آ ِونَ ٍة‬

َ

ِ ‫ َ َرام‬O‫ا‬
‫َات‬ َ ‫َسه‬
ْ ‫ِيل‬ ْ ‫نَي َْل ا ْلفُتُوحِ َو ت‬

Hādhā-l Ladhī minhu arjū kulla āwinatin

Nayla-l Futūhi wa tas‘heela-l marāmāti

This is the one from whom I continuously seek…

All my openings...and the easing of all my affairs!

‫سنَ ِدي‬ ْ ‫ ٍَة َو ت‬Ç‫ص‬

َ ٍ ‫َسلِيم‬
َ ‫ع َلى‬ َ ‫أَزْ َكى‬

ِ ‫خلِي َق‬
‫ات‬ َ ‫شهْبٍ لِ ْل‬
ُ ِ‫الصحْ ب‬
( ْ ‫َو‬
‫ ِل َو‬Ü‫ا‬

Azkā Salātin wa Taslīmin ‘alā Sanadī

 Wa-l Āli wa-s Sahbi shuhbin lil-khalīqāti

May the Purest Blessings & Salutations be upon my Master!

And his Family & Companions…the Stars of Creation!
