Dear Mr David Chemello,

Having been a resident of Kununurra for 13yrs I have always been extremely interested in a career within your department. With my passion for
environmental sustainability and land conservation, I am confident in my ability to contribute to your team and make a positive impact. I was
elated to see a position for the Operations Officer- Conservation role advertised. With a great understanding and wealth of knowledge of our
unique environment and cultural diversity I believe I possess the relevant skills and qualifications to be a suitable candidate for the position.

Throughout my career I have gained hands-on experience and qualifications in a number of key areas that would benefit me in this role.
Including bush fire fighting in which I was an active member of Two Rocks Bush Fire Brigade for a number of years. I have read your
departments Fire Management Strategy Plan and seen your commitment to increase gender diversity & encourage women to apply. The
Departments bush fire strategies are internationally recognised & highly regarded which I commend you for and would like to actively become
apart of.
When supervising the Waste Facility I gained a comprehensive understanding of legislation, regulatory compliance, environmental protection,
land management and worked heavily with DWER adhering to the facility's environmental protection license.

What sets me apart is my ability to communicate effectively & collaborate with diverse stakeholders. I have successfully organised & led
community outreach programs to raise awareness of environmental issues and the impact we pose on our environment.
My passion for environmental preservation and wildlife protection has led me to actively be involved in my family's organisation- Kangaroo
Haven. At the sanctuary we not only welcome kangaroos, but we provide care and shelter for around 20 species of wildlife with the intent to
rescue, rehabilitate and release them back into their natural habitats. I assist Mandy with the general maintenance around the property- cleaning
enclosures/ gardening and building enclosures for the animals. I actively get involved in educating the general public who come to the Haven
and have led tour groups for Mandy.
