Unit 4: Consideration for others feelings and cooperation

Lesson 1: Circle Time

Lesson Objective:

• To demonstrate how we can treat others with thoughtfulness, consideration,


cooperation and compassion.
• To understand how to show kindness to others.

Keywords:
thoughtful, feelings, opinions, respect, positive, negative

Entrance Ticket:
How can you show kindness to your classmates?
Help them when they need it, share, and use kind words.

Think – Pair – Share:

• What does the word “kindness” mean to you?


• Being nice and caring to others.
• Why is it important to respect other people’s opinions?
• It helps everyone feel valued and listened to.
• What can you do to be a good listener?
• Pay attention, don’t interrupt, and show you care about what they say.
Differentiated Task:
(Children have to choose any 1 task, based on their abilities, we encourage independent and
fresh work for these tasks, hence child has to attempt on their own).

Activity:
Reading pages from the book.

Answer questions related to the story:


1. Why did the teacher ask students to sit in a circle?
The teacher asked the students to sit in a circle so they could listen to teacher more
clearly.

2. What are the FIVE rules the teacher is talking about?


Listen when someone is talking.
Raise your hand to speak.
Be kind to everyone.
Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
Follow directions the first time.
Critical Thinking:
Why do you think it’s important to be kind?
Being kind is important because it makes others feel happy, helps build friendships, and
creates a positive and caring environment where everyone feels safe and respected.

Real – life Application:


How does being kind to someone make you feel?
Being kind to someone makes you feel good inside, happy, and proud because you know
you’ve helped or made someone else smile.

Extended Task:
Make a poster about 10 acts of kindness.
(This is an optional task and students are encouraged to be creative and show results based
on their knowledge and understanding of the topic).
