River

If the water is flowing underground, it is infiltration


Sand and stones in the river scrape the bad and banks ,

and wear them away. This is called abrasion

Rocks and stones knock together and wear each other

away. This is called attrition.

In a fast flowing river , water is forced into cracks in the

bank .This is called hydraulic action.

Water also dissolves soluble minerals from the bed and

banks. This is helps to break them up . It is called solution

Some rocks in the river banks has already been broken

down into stones and soil by weathering.

River do their work in three stages:

1. They pick up or erode material from one place.

2. They carry or transported it to another place.

3. They drop or deposite it.

Glacier work as they flow

They do three jobs:

They pick up or erude material

They carry it away, or transport it.

Then they drop or deposited it.

1.Erosion:

First, the ice freezes around rocks and stones under the
glacier. Then

It tugs or plucks them out.

Secondly, the plucks rocks and stones scrape bits off the

glacier bed, as they are carried along. This is called

abrasion.

2. Transport

First, As the glacier pushes along, material that falls onto it

is carried on top. Second, some is carried inside the

glacier. For example, debris that fell into crevasses. Third,

A lot of material is frozen into the base of the glasier.

The disadvantage of travel:

1. Burning fuel -> global warming

2. Local culture

3. Harm the local environment (noise pollution)

1. the place the people and their culture are respected

2. The local people have a say in tourism decision

3. The local people also want a fair and good benifit.
