Commissioning Flexi Multiradio BTS WCDMA Manual Commissioning

6 If the unit is FTIF and TRS-integrated FSMF, define the following settings:

Figure 30 Commissioning - Physical Layer Configuration page for Ethernet

interfaces

• Select checkbox Enable FSM EIF2 as RP3-01 interface if it is meant to be used.

Note that if selected, only first Ethernet interface will be used.
• Select the checkbox in the In Use column to put the interface in use.
Note that interfaces can be used according to licenses. Interfaces 1 and 2 can be
used without a license but you need to have a valid license to activate additional
interfaces. For more information on licenses, see the License Management
document in the WCDMA RAN System Documentation. Note that in FTIF port
combinations EIF1 with EIF3 or EIF2 with EIF4 cannot be used.
• Enter the link flapping prevention timer (from 0 to 600 seconds).
• Select Flush MAC switch table LOS if applicable.
• The Max. capacity (Mbps) column shows the maximum capacity of the Ethernet
interface.

6.5 Defining Ethernet Switching

Purpose
In the Commissioning - Ethernet Switching page you can define the Ethernet
switching configuration.
This page is not available if there are no ethernet interfaces in use, if the transport mode
is set to ATM over Ethernet or if Flexi Direct is taken into use.

5 Define the CCCH Processing set number.

This option is available only for FSM3 modules.
Enter the number of the CCCH Processing set licenses.
With this option, it is possible to define the CCCH license to be available in BTS.
Each system module has certain default capacity equal to one CCCH processing set
which is available initially for free. Based on that information required amount of
CCCH processing sets is downloaded to BTS from NetAct license pool.
Please note that 6 cells (in one subunit per system module) with range less than 10
km can be configured without the use of CCCH processing set.
Number of the CCCH processing set might be between 0 and 99. See Dimensioning
WCDMA RAN: Flexi BTS Baseband for more information.

6.30 Defining Concurrent Mode Settings

Purpose
In the Commissioning - Concurrent Mode Settings page you can define the
concurrent mode settings for multiradio BTS.

g This page is available when the HW configuration contains at least one radio
module supporting the 2G concurrent technology in 3G-2G sharing.

g For FSM3 it is possible to support 3x Shared RF modules in RF sharing. For

this purpose the Synchronization towards the slave System Module needs to be
provided via OPTIF#6 when there is no FBB unit installed to FSMF System
Module. Also FSM EIF2 as RP3-01 interface must be enabled in
Physical Layer Configuration page.

1 Select the RF Sharing enabled check box.

Select the RF Sharing enabled check box to enable RF sharing.
This parameter enables the RF sharing in 3G-2G sharing. It is used for automatic
license activation. Enabling this parameter means that a multiradio RF Module can
be used for GSM/EDGE and WCDMA carriers at the same 3GPP frequency band.
When operating in the RF sharing mode, a single RF Module is connected to both
technology system modules simultaneously.
Flexi EDGE System Module is operating in the GSM/EDGE SW mode and Flexi
Multimode System Module in the WCDMA SW mode. Both are connected to the
same Flexi Multiradio RF Module.

2 Enter the 2G system module data.

Enter the 2G system module product code in the 2G system module (ESMx) product
code field.
Enter the 2G system module serial number in the 2G system module (ESMx) serial
number field.
These two fields are optional.

g You can see the WCDMA system module serving as a synchronization

master in the Synchronization master field and as a radio master in the
Radio master field.

3 Define the Radio module connections settings.

Select the Shared with 2G check box next to the RF module name if you want to use
this module in shared 3G-2G mode.

g The Shared with 2G check box is enabled if the RF module supports

FSM/EDGE.
If RFsharing enabled check box is selected, at least one of the RF modules
supporting 2G must be selected as a shared RF module.

6.31 Defining Local Cell Resources

Purpose
In the Commissioning - Local Cell Resources page you can create local cells, and
define antennas of the radio modules and carrier power to the local cells. Local Cell
Resource (LCR) is a concept for defining all hardware that a logical wideband cell
(WCEL) requires in the base station.
For more detailed informations on Local Cell Groups, see Appendix A.

g Local cell identifiers are determined at the network planning stage. It is essential
that the value input matches the expected value in the radio network plan. You
should not select the values arbitrarily.
