Story
Since I’d been riding for a while, I felt confident about teaching him. First, I explained the
basics of balance and pedaling and made sure he wore a helmet and other safety gear. We
started practicing balance on a stationary bike so he could feel comfortable before moving.
Then, I guided him step-by-step on using the brakes and maintaining balance while
pedaling. We practiced in an empty parking lot, which was a safe space for him to learn
freely. Each day, I could see him getting better and gaining confidence.
Opinion
I felt really proud and happy watching him improve. It was rewarding to pass on a skill that
would be useful for him in the future. Teaching him also made me feel more responsible and
gave me a sense of accomplishment.
Story
During that period, I was busy with a lot of schoolwork and projects, and I lost track of my
schedule. I only realized I missed the appointment when I got a reminder message. I felt
really embarrassed and immediately called the dentist’s office to apologize. After that, I
rescheduled the appointment for another day.
Opinion
This experience taught me the importance of keeping track of my schedule. After missing
that appointment, I set up reminders on my phone so I wouldn’t forget again. It was a bit
embarrassing, but it helped me improve my time management.
Topic: Patience
Describe a time when you made a decision to wait for something.
Introduction
There was a time last summer when I decided to wait before buying concert tickets. It was
for a big concert I really wanted to attend.
Story
When the tickets first went on sale, I saw that the prices were high, but I heard there might
be a discount later on. So, instead of buying them right away, I decided to wait a few weeks.
This made me a bit nervous because I was worried the tickets might sell out. Luckily, after a
few weeks, the price dropped, and I was able to buy tickets at a better price.
Opinion
In the end, I was happy that my decision to wait helped me save some money. This
experience showed me that sometimes waiting patiently can be beneficial, even though it
might feel risky at first.
Story
On that day, I forgot to check the traffic situation, so I didn’t leave early enough. I got stuck
in heavy traffic and ended up arriving about 15 minutes late. When I got there, my friends
were already waiting and had started the discussion. I felt embarrassed and apologized to
them for the delay.
Opinion
This experience taught me to be more aware of time and plan better. After that, I decided to
always check traffic and leave earlier for important meetings. Being on time shows respect
for others, so it was a valuable lesson for me.

Topic card: Describe a time when you were busy.
With the incredibly fast-paced living, it is usual to see how employees and students feel
exhausted because of many projects, and so do I. Today, I would like to talk about a time
when I was swamped with deadlines at university.
I remember it happened when I was a first-year student. The allowed time for the whole
team and me to prepare was 2 weeks. Because that was our first and important project, I
was extremely busy during that time.
I was chosen to be the leader, so there were tons of tasks waiting for me to be carried out,
such as searching topics, making a detailed outline, or doing group discussions to
brainstorm ideas.
I can say that I am a procrastinator; therefore, I had my hands full with the deadlines.
More specifically, I was unable to update my blog, keep up with my social platforms, and
visit a few close friends.
Because I didn't feel good about the project, I found it to be especially stressful. Luckily, I
had such a wonderful team who always supported and motivated me. Thanks to our good
teamwork, we finished the project with great results.
Although it was quite tough for me at that time, it was such a rewarding experience since I
gained valuable lessons in time management and coping with stress.
Exercise 2. Take notes to answer the question below, then record your response.
Topic card: Describe a time when you didn't have enough time
When it was: Last month, during final exams
What you tried to do or finish: Prepare for multiple exams and complete a major project
Where you were: At university and studying at home
Why you didn't have enough time:
Overloaded schedule with exams and deadlines all at once
Procrastinated earlier, so had to rush at the end
Underestimated the amount of preparation needed for each subject
I want to talk about a time when I didn't have enough time, which happened last
month during my final exams at university. At that time, I was trying to prepare for
multiple exams while also completing a major project for one of my courses. I spent a
lot of time studying at the university library and at home, but I quickly realized that I
was running out of time. The reason I didn't have enough time was that my schedule
was overloaded with exams and deadlines all at once. I had procrastinated earlier,
thinking I could manage everything easily, but I underestimated how much
preparation I needed for each subject. In the end, I felt very stressed trying to finish
everything, and it taught me the importance of time management.
