1. Main Specifications and Technical Parameters

Technical characteristics:

1) The entire experimental process of spray drying can be completed at 110-350°C,

which greatly reduces the drying temperature of the material and solves the problem

of spray drying of heat-sensitive materials.

2) 7-inch color touch screen operation: heating temperature PID constant temperature

control, peristaltic pump feeding speed can be adjusted at any time.

3)The particle diameter of the powder spray is normally distributed, the fluidity is

very good, and the noise is very low, which meets the national laboratory noise

standard;

4)The atomization structure of the two-fluid spray is made of high-quality stainless

steel materials, compact design, no auxiliary equipment, easy to use, it's the same as

the new one after using it for a long time。

22Main Features and Uses

SD-19 laboratory spray dryer is developed on the basis of absorbing the advantages

of foreign similar equipment, and has developed a spray drying process

experimental machine with multiple uses. The equipment takes into account both

flexibility and applicability, and can be spray dried in the same equipment.

According to the purpose of different processes, two different process approaches

can be used (low temperature or high temperature, 110 degrees to 350 degrees). That

is, the top spray process is different in that the materials are atomized and the spray

liquid is added in different ways. Therefore, each process has different

characteristics, a wide range of applications, and a strong visual visibility of the

entire process

The whole process uses a two-fluid atomizer to disperse the liquid material to be

dried into very thin mist-like particles (increasing the water evaporation area and

speeding up the drying process. The size of the droplets can be changed by adjusting

the atomization pressure. The pressure is large and the droplets are small.

Conversely, the pressure is small and the droplets are large.) When contacted with

hot air, most of the water is removed in an instant, and the solid matter in the

material is dried into a powder. During the drying process, the surface of the powder

and the hot air are completely. The contact achieves the best heat exchange state,

ensuring that the particles are heated evenly, and the excess water can be evaporated

evenly, preventing local overheating


3. Working Principle and Technological Process
Working principle:

Under the agitation of the fan, the airflow enters the spray drying chamber through

the heater, the air supply pipeline, the filter screen, and the airflow distribution plate.

The liquid material and compressed air enter the atomizer through their respective

pipelines, and the compressed air through the atomizer atomizes the liquid material

into a mist liquid drops, sprayed in the spray drying room to complete instant drying

after heat exchange, part of the dry powder settles to the primary powder collection

tank, and part of it enters the cyclone separator and is captured by the secondary

pollination tank. Hot steam and a small amount of dust pass through. The exhaust

pipe is discharged outdoors. Among them, the compressed air pressure can be

changed by the pressure regulating valve, the hot air flow can be set by the touch

screen panel, the temperature can be set, the range is 110-350 ℃, the feed rate is

controlled by the peristaltic pump panel.

Note: During the experiment, the temperature of the outlet air is higher than 80℃.

11Equipment Installation

The SD-19 laboratory spray dryer is mainly composed of: the cabinet box contains

electrical control parts, blower, heating device, drying room, cyclone separator,

material collection bottle, air compressor, peristaltic pump, etc.

The supporting mechanisms of the host include: infusion peristaltic pump (the

peristaltic pump speed can be adjusted), two-fluid atomizer, and a 0.1-0.3Mpa

compressed air machine, etc. to form a complete process control system. The

equipment and supporting equipment only need to be placed on a (900×600mm)

platform. The grounding wire of the chassis is reliable and safe, and the grounding

resistance is not less than 4Ω. It can be operated by connecting the power supply and

compressed air.

2) Equipment Commissioning:

A. Turn on the power supply and the air compressor air pipe. The compressed air

pressure can be adjusted by the lower knob to adjust the atomization pressure. Turn

the knob clockwise to increase the atomization pressure and turn it counterclockwise

to decrease the pressure (note: pull the knob out when adjusting the knob rotate once),

tighten the clamp nut, tighten the lock nut, the air flow interface should be tightly

sealed, no air leakage should occur.

B. Debugging of atomizer atomization effect:

Start the air compressor, connect the compressed air to the spray gun, start the system

to the spray operation state, adjust the liquid supply frequency and the atomization
pressure to change the atomization effect: the size of the droplet is proportional to the

liquid flow, and inversely proportional to the atomization pressure. (Generally, the

spray pressure is adjusted to 0.05Mpa~0.3Mpa, and the speed of the peristaltic pump

is adjusted to 10~45)

3) Atomizer Installation and Adjustment:


a. Put the top atomizer into the atomizer seat, align the nozzle vertically down to the

center of the container and fix the atomizer. The spray flow angle of the atomizer and

the spray liquid coverage should meet the maximum range when the material is

fluidized.

A few instructions for starting the spray movement state:

b. Before starting the spray, the hot air should be preheated for a period of time, and

the peristaltic pump can be started for spray drying when the inlet air temperature

reaches the allowable value of the spray.

A few notes after spraying:

c. After the material liquid is sprayed, spray it with distilled water for a period of time

to remove the adhesive liquid remaining in the liquid supply pump, liquid supply pipe

and spray gun head to achieve the purpose of cleaning the spray gun.

d. Stop the feeding by stopping the liquid supply frequency converter. After the

material drying reaches the process requirements, turn off the heater, then turn off the

fan, remove the temperature sensor, remove the cyclone separator, collect the bottle,

and dry the room for cleaning.

4) Material temperature setting:

Before and after the program starts, the material temperature can be set at any time

according to the process requirements. (General setting range (110~350℃)

5) Fan frequency setting:

Before and after the program is started, the fan frequency can be set at any time

according to the amount of materials and dry conditions. (The general setting range is

13 to 35, and the corresponding air volume is 1.3M3 to 3.0M3)

6) Liquid supply frequency setting:

Before and after the program starts, the liquid supply frequency can be set at any time

according to the amount of materials and the fluidization status. The peristaltic pump

is generally set to (10-50 rpm)

7) Shutdown:

First turn off the peristaltic pump, stop heating, turn off the air compressor, and then

turn off the fan when the temperature of the feed inlet drops below 110°, and finally

turn off the total power supply of the equipment.

55Operation and Use

: Control process

A. Turn on the main power switch → start the touch screen power button → start the

fan → heat → start the air compressor → the temperature rises to the set temperature

→ start the peristaltic pump feed → dry.

B. For heating control, set the temperature required for heating, start the fan, and heat,

the system will automatically control the heating temperature.

C. Shutdown: stop the peristaltic pump → stop the heating → stop the air compressor

→ the inlet temperature drops below 110° → stop the fan → turn off the main power

of the equipment → clean the equipment.


66Maintenance
Proper maintenance and maintenance can better play the performance of
the equipment and extend the service life of the equipment, so the
.equipment must be maintained and maintained regularly
A. Cleaning of system parts and components: the machine's
drying/collecting system/atomizing system can be easily removed and
cleaned separately, dried and restored after cleaning or stored for later use.
B. When the equipment is idle and not in use, it should be started every 20
days, and the start-up running time is not less than 20 minutes to prevent
the components of the electronic control device from being damaged by
moisture.
