18. No crane should run without load chart and
with defective SLI.
19. Check reviving of hook block according to
load capacity.
20. Avoid to lift load from front side of crane as it

21. Do not park crane under any conveyor belt
line.
22. Don’t park crane below power line & in
gaseous area.
23. Take out complete out rigger, equally & put
its each pad and also put wooden block
under each out rigger pad. In any case, no
job should be done without taking out the
out riggers.
24. Always calculate and deduct the weight of
hook block, rope from load to be lifted and
weight of jib if stove on boom.
25. Operator must check all lifting tool and tackle
like sling, D-shackle etc. Do not load material
with damaged sling, D shackle and other tools.
26. There should be no twist in rope while lifting
load.
27. For fixing of fly jib work as per SOP of fixing
of fly jib.
28. Do not leave crane if crane is engaged and load
is in lifted condition.
29. Do not apply sudden brake during lifting or
lowing of load. Also do not apply wing brake.
30. Use aluminum ladder fixed at the bed of crane
for rising up in crane.
31. Do not perform two operations ( like swing
& lowering) parallel at a time.
32. For riding on crane bed, use aluminum
ladder which must be hooked properly on
bed.

placement of crane.
5 Barricade the work area after placement of
crane with indicative barricading and do
not allow any person in the crane working
area. If any person enters in crane working
area, than flagman should stop the job.
6 Flag man should come of out crane work
area (barricaded area of crane working)
7 Do not sit inside crane driving cabin during
job execution.
8 Do not give signal to operator for lifting or
lowering of job (it should be given by
requestor’s rigger)
9 Use audio signal like whistle for
communicating with operator.

Instruction for

clearance, road clearance or gas clearance if
working in that condition. There must be a gap
of 3 Mts minimum between crane any point
and high tension power line.
9. Requestor must issue gas detector to crane
operator and helper in case of gases area.
10. Requestor must be well aware of weight of
material to be lifted and must communicate to
crane operator about the lift plan.
11. Do not accept crane in case of any Hyd.

12. Weight should be within the capacity and it
should not be more than 85% in any case.
13. Do not operate crane, if there is HT over head
line, low voltage necked wire area where
chance of electro pushing and gas line.
14. Do not take boom in or out with lifted load.
15. Always estimate CG of load, it shifts towards
more weight side. Place crane accordingly.
16. During critical loading, use 75% of tipping
load chart for safety.

17. With lifted load, move crane slowly.


18. First lift the load just 6” above the ground and
check the center of load and check brake. If not
centered, lower the load and discuss with
requestor to make sling at center.
19. Place crane such that there must be minimum 2
feet gap remain between counter weight and
swing area.
20. Keep minimum 1 meter distance from back fill
area.
21. Out rigger should not be placed on any drain,
cable trench etc.
22. Never fill loose material like stone, pebbles etc
under out rigger pad.
23. Do not move crane if holding the load with
two cranes.
Instruction for Crane Flagman:
24. Flag man should always stand at the driver side
and maintain a distance of 3 miters from crane.
25. Use whistle to communicate with operator.
26. Barricade crane work area keeping 1.5 Mts.
Surrounding area from crane.
27. Flagman should come out of crane work area
and did not allow any other person to enter in
the work area of crane.
28. Flagman should not take rest in crane cabin
while crane is in working conditions.
Instruction for Crane Requestor:
Requestor must provide place for parking of crane.
29. Requestor must take care that no other job is
going just above the crane.
30. Requestor must depute experienced crane
signal man to signal to operator.
31. Barricade the crane working area at 1.5mt .
32. Stop operation of EOT crane if present.
33. Calculate about the CG of load to be lifted and

intimate accordingly to the operator.


34. For tandem loading, pre lift meeting should be
done.
35. For tandem loading, use same capacity crane.
36. Take double capacity crane as per load for
tandem loading.
37. If D-shackle is used, always ensure that its bolt
is mounted in hook block not its D-side.
38. Ensure no person should be under hanging
load.
39. Tie guy rope with load before lifting.
40. If crane is working with full boom extended,
then stop the work if wind flow at speed more
than 30 Kmph.
41. In case of use of two sling & loaded angle is
more than 90 degree, than use D-shackle with
slings.
42. Give padding in between sling and load to be
lifted.
43. Use same size and capacity sling to lift single
load.
44. Never use knotted sling, rope or chain.
45. Execution of job must be as per Safe
Working Procedure of Requester site SOP.

Instruction for Maintenance- In case of any
breakdown inside works premises, intimate office of
FMM(M), CP&INFRA. Take permit for Maintenance
jobs and then start the job. Barricade the work area,
