MODELING STUDY REQUIREMENTS

In general the required data for modeling, include:

 Stratigraphy – formations, hiatuses, and erosional events with missing

thicknesses and beginning ages of all events. This is important for modeling
the burial history.

 Lithology data – Selection of a lithology includes a wide range of

petrophysical properties associated with that lithology. Important in both the
burial history and thermal history.

 Thermal data – Surface temperature, heat flow or geothermal gradients. The

thermal history is created on the basis of heat flow, which calculated from
subsurface temperature and rock proprieties. The thermal history is the most
important control in hydrocarbon generation.

 Geochemical data – Kerogen type of the source rock and initial TOC
estimates for modeling hydrocarbon generation and expulsion.

 Depth maps for the modeled horizons and faults. These together with the
modeled wells integrated in 3D modeling calculations using the BasinView
and BasinFlow program.

 2D seismic lines (Optional). Model the dynamic geologic conditions within a

petroleum system. Observe in cross section the migration of hydrocarbons,
beginning with generation from source rocks through secondary migration
and accumulation in traps

The requirements as follows:-

 Location Map include all selected wells to be submitted for the modeling
 Composite/Mud Logs for each selected wells
 Table include the final formation tops for all wells
 Available Temperature Data (BHT, DST)
 E-logs (digital format, las files if possible)
 Available Core Porosity Data
 Available Pressure Data
 Depth maps for the modeled horizons (digital format, ASCII XYZ)
 The main faults in the study area and their location in ASCII format XY.
