Q. No UNIT 1 MARKS
1 a What are the two systems of placing dimensions on a drawing? Illustrate your [7M]
answer with sketches.
b Construct a regular hexagon of 40 mm side and draw in it, six equal circles, each [7M]
touching one side of the hexagon and two other circles.
(Or)
2 a Draw a scale of 1 : 60 to show meters and decimeters and long enough to [7M]
measure up to 6 meters.
b A circle of 50 mm diameter rolls along a straight line without slipping. Draw the [7M]
curve traced out by a point P on the circumference, for one complete revolution
of the circle. Name the curve. Draw a tangent to the curve at a point on it 40 mm
from the line.
UNIT 2
3 a A point P is 50 mm from both the reference planes. Draw its projections in all [7M]
possible positions.
b Two pegs fixed on a wall are 4.5 meters apart. The distance between the [7M]
pegs measured parallel to the floor is 3.6 meters. If one peg is 1.5 meters
above the floor, find the height of the second peg and the inclination of the
line joining the two pegs, with the floor.
(Or)
4 a A 90 mm long line is parallel to and 25 mm in front of the V.P. Its one end is in [7M]
the H.P. while the other is 50 mm above the H.P. Draw its projections and find its
inclination with the H.P.
b Draw a regular hexagon of 40 mm side, with its two sides vertical. Draw a circle [7M]
of 40 mm diameter in its center. The figure represents a hexagonal plate with a
hole in it and having its surface parallel to the V.P. Draw its projections when the
surface is vertical and inclined at 30° to the V.P. Assume the thickness of the
plate to be equal to that of a line.
UNIT 3
5 a Draw the projections of a pentagonal pyramid, base 30 mm edge and axis 50 mm [7M]
long, having its base on the H.P. and an edge of the base parallel to the V.P. Also
draw its side view.
Regd. No. Subject Code: 1003231102
b A square pyramid, base 40 mm side and axis 65 mm long, has its base in the V.P. [7M]
One edge of the base is inclined at 30° to the H.P. and a corner contained by that
edge is on the H.P. Draw its projections.
(Or)
6 A pentagonal pyramid, base 40 mm side and height 75 mm rests on one edge of [14M]
its base on the ground so that the highest point in the base is 25 mm above the
ground. Draw its projections when the axis is parallel to the V.P. Draw another
front view on a reference line inclined at 30° to the edge on which it is resting,
and so that the base is visible.
UNIT 4
7 Draw the development of the lateral surface of the part P of the cylinder, the front [14M]
view is shown in Fig. 1
Fig. 1
(Or)
8 A pentagonal pyramid, one side of the base parallel to the V.P. Draw the [14M]
development of the lateral surface of the part P of the pyramid, the front view is
shown in Fig. 2.
Fig. 2
UNIT 5
9 A cylindrical block of base, 60 mm diameter and height 80 mm, standing on the [14M]
H.P. with its axis perpendicular to the H.P. Draw its isometric view.
(Or)
10 Draw the front view, top view, LHSV of the isometric view shown in Fig. 3. [14M]
