INRUSH- AND OVER-
FLUXING RESTRAINT
Faulty trippings caused by inrush are avoided by
weighting the adjustable ration of the 2nd harmo-
nic and the fundamental component. Thereby, the
trigger is blocked at exceeding of the ration in a
phase regardless of the result of other phases at the
„Crossblocking“ procedure.

If cross-blocking is not used but the “single block“

procedure is used, the harmonics of all started pha-
se differential currents must exceed the setting to
result in blocking of the differential current protec-
tion. The treatment of differrencial currents through
overfluxing is done in a similar manner, but the 5th
harmonic is analysed instead of the 2nd.

To avoid the blocking of the trigger at high parts of

the 2nd or 5th harmonic by other network events
or transformer saturation, a maximum value for the
differential current, up to which harmonics are mea-
sured, are determined by setting parameter.

TRIP-CIRCUIT SUPERVISION OVERLOAD PROTECTION
The permanent supervision of a current flowing (THERMAL REPLICA)
through the trip-circuit can be realized via one or
two inputs. The thermal level is calculated with a specific model
and compared then with the operate values where-
by the influence of the corresponding previous load
is taken into account. Depending on the operational
equipment different characteristics can be selected.

Just as asymmetric faults can be recognized whose

For supervision of current unbalances two stages
are integrated whereby the first stage can be opera-

CHARACTERISTIC SETS
The input of four characteristic sets is possible. The
selection of the active set is possible locally, by me-
