INFORMATION / INSTRUCTIONS
1. The contents of the Technical log book shall be as approved by DGCA.
2. It shall be carried on board the aircraft during every flight.
3. Entries in this log book in respect of each journey shall be correctly made by the crew and the Pilot – in – Command of the Aircraft shall ensure that such
entries are made in accordance with the requirements of Rule 67 of the Indian Aircraft Rules 1937.
4. Entries shall be made in ink or indelible pencil and shall be made before presenting the log book to the Aerodrome Customs, Health and other authorities
concerned on completion of the flight.
5. In this book must be entered all relevant data and particulars concerning each flight. In the case of series of short flights in a close circuit, carried out with the
same purpose and under the control of the same responsible commander it will suffice in respect of columns to enter the time of departure and of the last
arrival.
6. A flight comprises the period between the time of departure and the time of next landing. A separate folio shall be used for each separate journey but a
series of flights forming part of one journey may be entered on one folio.
7. Whenever MEL is invoked by the AME, complete details should be entered each time by the AME in the MEL invoking Details of the Technical log book page
till the MEL is revoked; else to be entered NIL each time the Technical log book is filled. Complete details should also be entered in the deferred maintenance,
Section 4 of this Technical log book.
8. Complete Details of revoking the MEL should be entered in the deferred Maintenance, Section 4 of this Technical log book.
9. All columns shall be invariably filled.
10. All sections (1, 2, 3, 4 & 5) of this Technical log book are as per CAR M, AMC M.A.306 (a).
11. Distribution of Technical Log pages will be as follows:
First Copy (White): - First copy shall be retained in the Technical Log Book.
Second Copy (Blue): ‐ Shall be removed by pilot/ground staff after the flight. The original(second) copy shall be sent to Operations by Base‐in‐charge through post / courier
once in a week.
Third Copy (Yellow): ‐ Shall be sent to CAMO by Pilot / Ground staff through fax / email after the last flight of the day. The original (third) copy shall be sent to CAMO by the
Base‐in‐charge through post / courier, once in a week.

PILOT’S ACCEPTANCE CHECKS
CAR, LATEST SECTION 8, SERIES ‘O’ PART II Para 4.3

A flight, shall not be commenced until the pilot has issued pilot’s acceptance report either on tech-log or any other appropriate document and flight preparation
forms have been completed, certifying that the pilot-in-command is satisfied that:

a) The aeroplane is airworthy and the appropriate certificates (i.e. airworthiness, registration) are on board the aeroplane;
b) The instruments and equipment prescribed in Para 6 of Section 8 Series “O” Part II for the particular type of operation are to be undertaken are installed
and are sufficient for the flight;

c) A maintenance release as prescribed in Para 8.7 of Section 8 Series “O” Part II has been issued in respect of the Aeroplane;
d) The mass of the aeroplane and centre of gravity location are such that flight can be conducted safely, taking in to account the flight condition expected;

e) Any load carried is properly distributed and safely secured;


f) A check has been completed indicating that the operating limitations given in Para 5 of Section 8 Series “O” Part II can be complied with for the flight to be
undertaken; and;
g) The Standards relating to operational flight planning have been complied with;
g.1) An operational flight plan shall be completed for every intended flight. The operational flight plan shall be approved and signed by the pilot-in-
command and, where applicable, signed by the flight operations officer/flight dispatcher, and a copy shall be filed with the operator or a designated
agent, or, if these procedures are not possible, it shall be left with the aerodrome authority or on record in a suitable place at the point of departure.

g.2) The operations manual must describe the content and use of the operational flight plan.
