INTRODUCTION

Training and Development acts as a link between learning and the success of the business. The Business has to be
well prepared to adapt them towards the changing Environment. The Companies have to make their employees to
mold themselves towards these changes through training and development. Training and Development is an on-
going effort and has to be undergone continuously by the organization. These efforts will increase the performance
of the employees. Training differs from one organization to another, depending on the function, the integral
elements of the strategies and theories applied for the methodologies.

LITERATURE REVIEW

According to Tukunimulongo, (2016), also said that the on the job training plays an important role to gain the
positive results and productivity in their employee’s performance.
Parijat & Bagga, (2014) describe that the efforts and performance given by employees will help them to get a
reward. The desired rewards will boost and motivates the employees for their better and better performance.

Khan et al (2014) describes that the job rotation is one of the methods of training and that enhances the performance
of the employees and will make them to be committed to their work.
According to Nassazi, (2013) helps that the change in performance is based on the effect of training.

Ameeq and Hanif, (2013), helps that the employees show the positive performance after attending the training
program conducted by the organization.
According to past researcher Nassazi, (2013) describes that the off the job is more effective than the on the job
training. Employees will focus fully on the training in off the job training and can give show better performance.

Aguinis & Kraiger, (2009) describes that the employee’s performance will show a positive change by gaining a
new talent.
Gansberghe (2003) defines development is a strategic process and that projects the potential and the effectiveness.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Employee Training and development program is the top priority for the business. In fact, 70% of the organization
has succeeded, because of the learning process through training. Employee Training and Development is a wide
term that includes a broad range of skills, learning, improvement, and success. It also includes technical skills to
perform a specific task required for the organization.

The Comprehensive goal for training and development will boost their employee performance, self confidence and
increase their morale. Various methods of training will be used to get new skills. Certain types of training is usually
brings specified ratio towards learning new skills with prior experience.

Training mainly focuses on nurturing skills with an individual. These skills are popular for the employee, who wants
to increase their salary in a competitive industry.

EFFECTIVE TRAINING PROGRAM

The training program is organized in a systematic approach to find the individual growth with business goals.
Effective training depends on the objective of the training program. It helps Employees to develop their technical
skills and non-technical skills. It also helps to improve the Employee Confidence, Career development and benefited
to the employees as a continuing education program and it should be a long term program.

STEPS INVOLVED IN TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

The impact of training and Development will not happen as just a minute game. It has to be carefully well planned
and executed through various processes.

Identify the goal of Business: Training should meet the business goals. Keeping business goals in mind, the training
program has to be framed. So that they can measure the impact of training.

Gap Analysis: Identify your employee’s current skills and performance with your business goals. This stage will
help to find where your employee’s lacks and that show you the Gap.

Selecting a Right Training Methods: The Gap analysis will help us to frame the budget, location, Trainers, type of
training and other methods like On the job or off the job, Online program, Hands on training or other methods.
Companies will choose the training methods, which is suitable for their employees.

Evaluating the Training Program: Learning and Attending the training program is not an end. Immediate
performance of employees will not give us the exact results. As training is a continuous process and is should be
measured on the daily performance.

Follow-up Action: The success of the training program can be measured after the training session. Employee
training program has become a part of company culture.

IMPORTANCE OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Increase the retention of Employees: Recruiting highly talented and skilled employees involve time and money. The
level of Employee turnover increases on a daily basis and which in turn affects the performance and the goodwill of
the company. Providing an employee training and development program helps you to cultivate, getting talented &
retaining workers and reduces hiring cost.

Spending money in training is gaining profit and it is an investment. When the employees feel that their company is
investing in their career, they are willing to stay.

Touches senior leadership: Training helps to develop leadership quality. It cherishes succession pipelines, so that the
company can get talents from within the organization.
Raise Morale of the Employees: Training and Development program are a great way to bring unity and confidence
among employees and gives enthusiasm among them.

Increase Productivity: In a Competitive world, updating employees will get sustain. Learning new skills and
technology will upgrade the employees to adapt themselves towards these changes. Training acts a bridge for the
employees to increase their skills and helps to perform their current job more effectively and thus increases their
productivity.

Produce Productivity: Training helps the employees to give quality and accurate work as per the schedule.
Overburden of task and duties will often bring lack of interest towards their job. Better training programs make the
employees to travel on the same track.

Goodwill: Developing good, reputable brands are the major task performed by the employees. Building a good
relationship between organizations and their customer will increase the profit, reputation and long term sustaining in
the field. Spending money for the training programs differs from each company and thus they build a good image.

Conclusion

Training and Development Program for Employees is highly important for the organization. In order to get the
desired results framed by the company, the performance of the employees is a tool to receive it. New Employees
will learn from their seniors, Senior Employees will learn from their Superiors. But the actual result will not be
achieved. New employees or senior employees, they need to be updated with the new technology or the process of
the job to be performed. Training acts a backbone for all these functions and that produces the key results for the
company.
