Dual Projector Installations

with XL Cinema Systems


The RealD® XL-DP and XLW-DP Cinema Systems consist of two matched passive
3D optical systems, each using the RealD XL light recapture technology. The result
is dual DLP projection that is at least twice as bright as any other dual projector 3D
system. Created to address the needs of premium large format theatres with screens
larger than 65 feet (20 meters), this unique product allows the exhibitor to achieve 2D
brightness levels for 3D digital cinema presentations.

PRODUCT FEATURES
The RealD XL Cinema Systems are the world’s most widely used 3D projection
systems and are the ultimate 3D Cinema solutions for DLP Cinema® projectors. The
reason for this success is a more efficient optical system that recaptures the light lost
by other systems making it at least twice as bright as other 3D systems.

All RealD Cinema Systems are compatible with 2K and 4K Cinema projectors and
support High Frame Rate (HFR) 3D presentations, including 48 frames per second (fps)
double flash and 60 fps double flash - 192 Hz and 240 Hz respectively.

RealD XL Cinema Systems include mounting solutions


for all major DLP Cinema® projectors, including
Stacked Configurations, allowing for easy
transition between 2D and 3D with repeatable
repositioning to ensure the highest
quality 3D presentations.

3D BRIGHTNESS
Digital Cinema Projector manufacturers can provide information on Rated Light Output
of their projectors combined with different lamp sizes. RealD recommends using 70% of
the Rated Light Output to ensure the combination maintains the brightness level required
for high quality 3D presentation over the life of the lamp.

The table below provides the Maximum Screen Width recommended for sustained 3D
Brightnesses of 6.0 fL to 14.0 fL, based over a range of Light Outputs.
