Solving a Rubik's Cube involves following a systematic method to arrange the cube
into its solved state. The most popular beginner-friendly method is the layer-by-
layer method. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Solve the White Cross

Find the white center piece (it doesn't move as centers are fixed).
Align the white edge pieces (pieces with two colors, one being white) around the
white center to form a "white cross."
Match the second color of the edge piece with the corresponding center color on the
adjacent face.
Fix the orientation of edge pieces to ensure they align correctly.
Step 2: Solve the White Corners
Locate the corner pieces with white and two other colors.
Position the piece below its correct spot (matching the two non-white colors with
their centers).
Use this algorithm to bring the corner piece into place:
R' D' R D
Repeat until the corner piece is oriented correctly.
Step 3: Solve the Middle Layer Edges
Look for edge pieces in the top layer that don’t have yellow.
Position them above their target location.
Use one of the following algorithms depending on the direction the piece needs to
go:
For moving left:
U' L' U L U F U' F'
For moving right:
U R U' R' U' F' U F
Step 4: Solve the Yellow Cross
Form a yellow cross on the top face. (Ignore the corners for now.)
Depending on the yellow pattern, apply this algorithm:
Dot (no yellow edges):
F R U R' U' F'
L-shape (backwards L):
F U R U' R' F'
Line:
F R U R' U' F'
Step 5: Solve the Yellow Corners
Position the yellow corners in their correct spots (colors match adjacent centers
but might not be oriented correctly).
Use this algorithm:
U R U' L' U R' U' L
Step 6: Orient the Yellow Corners
Twist the yellow corners into their correct orientation using this algorithm: R' D'
R D Repeat for each corner, ensuring the cube's orientation remains unchanged.
Step 7: Solve the Final Layer Edges
Position the last layer edges in their correct places using:
F2 U L R' F2 L' R U F2
If necessary, rotate edges to complete the cube.
With practice, you'll be able to solve the cube faster and move on to advanced
methods like CFOP (Cross, F2L, OLL, PLL).
