Astrocartography, also known as astrological mapping, is a tool that connects your

natal chart to geographic locations across the globe. By overlaying planetary lines
on a map, it identifies places where certain energies and experiences are more
likely to manifest. This method is particularly helpful for understanding how
different locations might influence aspects of your life, such as relationships,
career, personal growth, or emotional well-being.

Astrocartography maps are created based on your date, time, and place of birth.
These maps show where specific planets were rising, setting, at their highest
point, or at their lowest point during your birth. Each planetary line represents a
distinct type of energy or influence depending on the planet’s characteristics and
its position. The closer you are to a planetary line on the map, the stronger that
planet’s influence will be in your life.

The planets play different roles in astrocartography. For example, the Sun
represents vitality and purpose, the Moon relates to emotions and intuition, Venus
governs love and harmony, and Jupiter symbolizes luck and growth. Other planets
like Saturn bring discipline and responsibility, while Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto
are tied to transformation and spiritual growth. The planetary lines are marked as
Ascendant (rising), Descendant (setting), Midheaven (highest point), or Imum Coeli
(lowest point). Each of these positions emphasizes a particular aspect of life:
personal identity and self-expression for the Ascendant, relationships for the
Descendant, career for the Midheaven, and home or family life for the Imum Coeli.

How to Read an Astrocartography Map

To interpret an astrocartography map, you first need to define your goals. Whether
you’re looking for romance, career success, emotional healing, or adventure, the
planetary lines on your map can guide you.

1. Define Your Goals: Begin by identifying what you’re seeking—love, career

advancement, emotional healing, or adventure. Your goals will guide you in focusing
on specific planetary influences.

2. Locate the Relevant Planetary Lines: Review the map for lines of planets
associated with your goals. For example, Venus is ideal for love and relationships,
Jupiter for success and abundance, and the Moon for emotional growth.

3. Understand the Line’s Position: Ascendant (AC) Affects personal identity and how
you present yourself; Descendant (DC) Impacts partnerships and relationships;
Midheaven (MC) Influences career and public image; Imum Coeli (IC) Focuses on home
and inner life.

4. Consider Line Intersections: Locations where multiple planetary lines intersect

carry heightened energy and can be especially significant for personal
transformation. For example, a place where Venus and Jupiter lines intersect might
bring both romantic and professional abundance.

While astrocartography is a powerful tool for identifying the energies associated

with different locations, it’s important to integrate this information with your
natal chart for a more personalized interpretation. Practical considerations, such
as cultural fit and local opportunities, should also be factored into decisions
about relocation or travel.
