PROJECT PROPOSAL

Project Title
Network Architecture for Interconnected Offices and Offshore

Submitted BY:

Submitted To:
MR. MUZAMIL AHMED
Objective:
The goal of this project is to design a network architecture for 3 primary office locations and an
offshore office. The network will support approximately 200 nodes and 300 users, enabling reliable,
cost-effective communication (messaging, and data) using Cisco Packet Tracer.

Network Design Overview:

1. Locations:
 Three local offices (interconnected across 100-150 km).
 One offshore office (internationally located with 10 users).
2. Requirements:
 Interconnection between local offices over a distance of 100-150 km.
 International connection to the offshore office over the internet for cost efficiency.
 Inside offices, a reliable, scalable, and low-cost network for voice and data
communication.
3. Project Scalability:
 Designing of Network for 200 nodes.
 Supporting of 300 users across locations.

Implementation Plan:
1. Research and Analysis:
 Analyzing of organization's requirements for connectivity.
 Evaluating cost-effective solutions for interconnecting offices.
2. Network Design:
 Implementing a star topology for internal LANs and VPN for secure offshore
communication.
3. Configuration and Implementation:
 Configuring routers, switches, and wireless access points to establish reliable LANs.
 Setting up dynamic routing protocols (EIGRP or OSPF).

Proposed Network Model:

Proposed Network Infrastructure:
1. Interoffice Connectivity
 Local Offices (Interconnected)
 Fiber Optic Cable for connecting the three main offices (100-150 km).
 Configure routing protocols such as EIGRP or OSPF for data routing.
 Offshore Office Connectivity
 Setting up of a VPN over the internet for secure and cost-effective communication
between the offshore office and the main office.
2. Inside Office Network
 Using of LAN for internal office connectivity:
 Star Topology for simplicity.
 Deploying of a Switches for 20-50 devices per office (depending on office size).
 Using of Ethernet cables for cost-effectiveness and high performance.
 Wireless Access Points (WAP):
 WAP for mobile and wireless device connectivity (laptops, smartphones).
 WAP for ensuring of mobility.
3. Communication Features
 Messaging and Data Communication:
 Setting up of a local servers for email, file sharing, and data storage in each office.
Personal Learning Outcomes:
 Network Designing Skills: I will gain hands-on experience designing and implementing a
network architecture.
 Device Configuration: Learning of configuration of routers, switches, and wireless access
points.
 Routing Protocols: Gaining knowledge of routing protocols like EIGRP and OSPF.
 VPN Configuration: Understanding how to set up secure connection.
