commonly known as malware, refers to any software designed to intentionally harm, exploit, or
otherwise compromise the functionality, security, or privacy of a computer system, network, or data.
Malware is created to infiltrate and damage systems, steal sensitive information, or manipulate
operations without the user's consent.Categories of Malicious Software:Viruses: Malicious code that
attaches to legitimate programs and spreads when the infected program is executed.Worms: Standalone
malware that self-replicates to spread across networks, causing harm or slowing down systems.Trojan
Horses: Malware disguised as legitimate software, tricking users into installing it.Ransomware: Malware
that encrypts data and demands payment for decryption.Spyware: Software that secretly monitors and
collects user information.Adware: Software that displays unwanted ads and may collect data for
targeted ads.Rootkits: Malware that hides in the system, often giving unauthorized access and
control.Bots/Botnets: Infected devices controlled remotely, often used for coordinated attacks.Meaning
