General Instructions:
a) All questions are compulsory.
b) The question paper consists of 40 questions divided into four sections
A, B, C & D.
c) Section A comprises of 20 questions of 1 mark each. Section B comprises of 6
questions of 2 marks each. Section C comprises of 8 questions of 3 marks each.
Section D comprises 6 questions of 4 marks each.
d) There is no overall choice. However internal choices have been provided in two
questions of 1 mark each, two questions of 2 marks each, three questions of 3
marks each and three questions of 4 marks each. You have to attempt only one of
the alternatives in all such questions.
e) Use of calculators is not permitted.

where the top touches the ground is 8m. Find the height of the tree.

In the given figure, the radii of two concentric circles are 13 cm and 8 cm. AB is
diameter of the bigger circle. BD is the tangent to the smaller circle touching it at
D. Find the length AD.

SECTION-C

27 The length, breadth and height of a room are 8m 25cm, 6m 75cm and 4m 50cm
respectively. Determine the length of the longest rod which can measure the three given
dimensions of the room exactly.

29. Sita and Simran wanted to go for a vacation with their families,they booked two cars
individually in zoomcar.com. The rent of the car for 12 hours is fixed and above that, and
additional amount will be collected for every hour. Sita paid Rs.4600 for 17 hours, while
Simran paid, Rs.3800 for 13 hours. Calculate the fixed charge and extra charge per hour.

30. There are 20 rows of seats on a concert hall: 25 seats are in the 1st row, 27 seats on the 2nd
row, 29 seats on the 3rd row, and so on. If the price per ticket is ₹ 2,300, find the total
amount collected for a one night – concert if all seats are occupied.

31. ABCD is a field in the shape of a trapezium AD||BC, ∠ABC =90° and ∠ADC =60° . Four
sectors are formed with centers A, B, C and D as shown in figure. The radius of each sector
is 14m.Find the following.

(ii) What is the area of four sectors?
(iii) Find the area of unshaded portion, given that AD = 55m BC = 45m and

value of ‘a ‘.

If (a , b) is the midpoint of line segment joining the points 𝐴 (10 , −6), 𝐵(𝑘 , 4) and lies
on the line 𝑎 − 2𝑏 − 18 = 0 , find the value of k and the distance between AB.

33. The angles of depression and elevation of the top of a wall 11 m high from top and bottom
of a tree are 60° and 30° respectively. What is the height of the tree?

OR

Two vertical poles are 200 m apart and the height of one is double that of the other. From
the middle point of the line joining their feet, an observer finds the angular elevations of
their tops to be complementary. Find the heights of the poles.

34. Draw a ∆ABC with BC = 6cm , ∠B = 60° and ∠C =45° ,construct another triangle whose

SECTION-D

35. The minimum age of children to be eligible to participate in a painting competition


is 8 years. It is observed that the age of youngest boy was 8 years and the ages
of rest of participants are having a common difference of 4 months. If the sum of
ages of all the participants is 168 years, find the age of eldest participant in the
painting competition.

diameter is 2 cm into a cylindrical tank, the radius of whose base is 40 cm.
Determine the increase in the level of water in half hour.
