Background of the Problem

Universities often face challenges in managing academic requests, such as course registration,
transcripts, clearance forms, and grade inquiries. Traditional manual or partially automated
systems are prone to delays, errors, and inefficiencies, leading to dissatisfaction among students
and staff. The growing student population and demand for faster services call for a centralized,
digital solution.

Statement of the Problem.

Current systems for handling academic requests are fragmented, time-consuming, and error-
prone. Students often experience delays in processing requests, while administrative staff face
difficulties in managing and tracking multiple submissions. This results in inefficiencies, reduced
productivity, and poor service delivery.
Scope of the Project

The UARMS is designed to serve as a centralized platform for managing all student academic
requests. It will focus on handling requests such as:

 Course enrollment and withdrawal


 Transcript issuance
 Academic clearance. The system will cater to both students and administrative staff,
ensuring seamless communication, request tracking, and automation of approval
processes.

Objectives

To develop a user-friendly University Academic Request Management System


(UARMS) that streamlines and automates the submission, processing, and tracking of
academic requests.

 Specific Objectives:
1. To create a centralized platform for managing academic requests.
2. To enable students to submit and monitor the status of their requests in real time.
3. To automate the request approval workflow to reduce processing time.
4. To provide administrative staff with tools to efficiently handle and track multiple
requests.

Tools and Technologies

 Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.


 Backend: PHP (Laravel).
 Database: MySQL.
 Other Tools: Git for version control and tools like Figma for UI/UX design.
The UARMS aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve user satisfaction, and provide a
scalable solution to meet future needs.
