Power BI

Business intelligence tool [Collection of 4 Components]

Power Query:- it is a ETL tool for cleaning the data for visualization

Power Pivot = for data modeling when you have multiple data
resources and you want to make a connection or relation between
them.

Power view= use for visualization, help to create 250+ charts that can
be bar charts, sinkey chart etc. Use to represent the presentation or
dashboards.

Power BI service= use to communicate users with each other or help to


share your dashboard to others

Types of charts used in Power BI:-

Column chart

Stacked column chart

Pie chart

Donut chart

Funnel chart

Ribbon chart

Keep only and exlude = you can filter data

View data and export = and can export data into csv file
Include and Exclude:-

Include :- If you want to compare or show only selected regions , then


select the region ->right click-> include . This will show only selected
part.

Exclude:- if your want to remove the selected part.

Map:- Use geographical data type for showing in the map like state ,
country , postal code etc

Filled map :- If you want to fill all that place with some colors then filled
map is used

If you need to create any country map then you need the dataset of
that particular country with fields like country, state , postal code , city,
longitude , latitude etc.

Bubble size show the greater size and smaller size bubbles according to
data.

Matrix :- Details version of table and can create a hierarchies of any


category and subcategory it enters three values :- row, column, values.

Table:- Can easily create table by adding the columns in add data, We
can easily create and format also can use conditional formats , change
aggregation.

For using conditional formats we need to just click on

Format > Cell elements/conditional element


Here we can add color, bg, icons, font color for a particular condition
and that will apply in all table and matrix.

If we have decimal numeric values and we need to convert in whole


number then just click on the data like:-

Quantity > Column tool > Data type

Here we can change the data type of the values and also If we need to
represent the value in thousands(K), Million (M) we can do this :-

Format > Field formatting
